I got over needing to collect individual items to place in the house. I understand limits on decor placement, inside and outside. But to have a Storage limit is just ridiculous. You had it for early access, fine.. I can keep my extra decor in I can’t add in the bank.. But obviously you will SURELY increase it when you add new house levels and increased decor placement budgets. What the heck Blizzard. You took the fun out of my favourite feature.
Yeah, it sucks… we definitely need a rise. They should be happy with ppl buying a lot of copies of one item, after all, it’s all a gold sink. Don’t want to delete items once they release even more…
And it’s not even that I was hoarding thing to reach the limit. I just bought/crafted multiple copies of everything, tried to buy enough of the basic decor like platforms and columns. I feel like I’m being punished for playing the decor game too much.
exactly, most of my multiples are plants, walls, beams and stuff. But my majority of items are one time collected items for the xp buff. I’m around 4400/5000 now. If the limit is not going to be increased I might be done with housing. I have no desire to go through my items to see what I can delete (after I was “forced” to buy it or craft it) just to make room to buy even more items.
I’m 4960/5000 technically, but only by deleting a few decor and only adding 1 copies of new decor while storing the rest (550 decor) in the bank. I can keep adding 1 of every new decor for the Housing XP but it really killed the fun of building a house for me. I felt so frustrated with the “no more decor for you” situation that my beautiful mage tower/academy headquarter tree house got destroyed by boulders falling from the nearby hill. I guess all left for me now is to wait for enough people to reach this limit and complain, maybe then Blizzard will do something about it..
With new decor being added and unlocked, Blizz should raise the cap to 10.000.
Yep. Else I’ll be blocked from doing content in Midnight, knowing I’ll lose out on some rewards for a beloved feature because of some silly constraint. (Actually, there should be no cap at all.)
And how am I supposed to fill two fully leveled houses with items if I can only own 5000 individual pieces?!
How about no cap?
Just limit the item itself to have a cap if that’s of concern, which I highly doubt. It’s just a number being stored in a database.
A no cap option would be lovely, but I think the cap is in place because the system likely cannot handle a no cap option. I continue to hope that the cap will be lifted in the near future.
There’s no way a number being 999999 instead of 5000 causes an issue anywhere.
Yeah, that’s what I don’t understand. This number doesn’t affect any performance, since it’s just a number on the UI. Placement budget takes care of loading issues. Placing a thousand items have much bigger of an impact, since you have to store their coordinates, orientation, size and colour and that doesn’t seem to be an issue. For items in storage you only have to store a colour if it’s been recoloured, since those are saved separately. That does not justify this frustratingly low number for storage.. And there’s no communication about it from Blizzard.. All we can do is make our voices heard that we are not happy about it..
Yeah, great - the moment has arrived: I’ can no longer learn any new deco - and am right in the middle of decorating my lvl 6 Horde house after finishing my lvl 5 Alliance house. Still have plenty or room and deco budget left - but can no longer buy the items I need to design those rooms. Hillarious.
INCREASE THE DAMN DECO OWNED LIMIT, BLIZZ. I’ve still so much work to do… and I thought the room budget would be what stops me… this feels extremely bad.
From level 5 onwards, you should increase the storage limit by at least 500. That would be a good compromise between server stability and hardcore housing players.
Level 5 = 5,500
Level 6 = 6,000
Level 7 = 7,000 (due to the fact that we’re getting more decor placement, etc.)
Level 8 = 7,500
…
I thought a 5000 limit is actually quite generous, you must have stuff you know you will never use. If it’s easy to replace get rid of it, hard to get keep it just in case.
It reminds me of the garage mentality, I’ll just leave it in the garage, I might need it one day. 20 years later it’s still there.
The only things I have multiples of are the things I actually use in my builds, and I checked I don’t have anything I won’t be using double. Plus the beams and stuff don’t even count towards the limit. All the other stuff are just singles from collecting decor once for xp. So it’s really counter intuitive for blizzard to be like co collect everything but have a limit of just 5000. I’m currently at 4400/5000 and I don’t even have half of the crafted stuff yet.
Also seeing what everything costs to buy or to make it really feels bad to then have to destroy things to get more room. At least if they want us to get rid of things, let us sell these at a decor vendor for a housing currency, so we can buy more decor that we’ve already previously aqcuired with that currency.
I think I’m in the region of 89/5000 and most of that I will never use. Some of it was purchased just for the +10 housing xp.
That part is buggy, btw. I think it’s my main problem. I don’t owe that many “non-standard” items, which can’t be destroyed because they are marked as “not counting toward house storage chest limit”, but aftet deleting what I could and buying non-deletable beams and platforms, I was at 5000/5000 AGAIN!
ah I didn’t know that, thx for the info
Yeah, this is a big issue. Currently at max and I have no idea what items to remove. I got a lot of beams and other stuff before I knew this was a problem and now I can’t even remove those bloody things since you get that “they don’t count” when they do.
People who don’t engage with housing are highly unlikely to actually even get close to that limit at L1~5, so there’s no reason to have it lower.
5000 is nothing, and I’ve paid for the items so I’m not going to return them. Sometimes I just need 50 fences or 100 stormwind beams, and if I redo my entire interior and no longer, I shouldn’t be punished for having them in storage.
