Backstory:
So I was doing the usual slaughter of Helsworn flunkies in Desmontaeron (or whatever is called) when I ended up fighting side by side with a reeally badass prot warrior who both did some really nice soloing of the elites and also had some really edgy (in a good way) appearence and transmog). He was a male dwarf with some interesting skin colors that made him look more like a deathknight than a warrior along with some armor set from Nighthold and other places.
So all this kinda inspired me to start thinking about which plate class to level next.
I have them all waiting at level 50 so it is not a long way.
For that I wanted to ask, how viable and popular are paladins, warriors and deathknights right now in Shadowlands PvE content?
I see a lot of paladins and I hear they do well but because I played paladin a lot in Legion and BFA, I am going to give all of them a chance
What do you think?
Edit; I decided on my warrior and I am enjoying being a fuming whirl of fury
Like Caylia said, warrior is your best bet. Try all specs and see which one fits your preferred playstyle. I played all 3 specs in Legion before settling on Fury as it kinda suits me as an extreme casual. Good luck whatever you choose
Go for war and dk if you want to play a support (ret can’t be a support as long as its toolkit is not proving consistent tools) that bring meaningfull spells for a group.
Also both ret and dk are wheelchair so if you really can’t play dog slow class then go for war.
Honestly I mostly look about what looks interesting in the transmogs I pick and are within the faction I play.
My warrior was originally a human, then a worgen and now a Kultiran, (might become a dwarf in the future cause I do not like how the horse mounts look like if they will break into two from his weight).
My DK was originally a tauren and when I faction changed I made him a night elf (for the dodge bonus originally).
My paladin was originally a blood elf, then became a draenei, then a dwarf, then draenei again then human. (within the alliance, paladin plates just look best in humans at the end imho)
But those are the coolest, come on
Oh boy… we’ve come a long way since those were OP.
I do agree on the wheelchair bit, however. From what I know about their strengths, but Ret and Frost both have a straightforward baseline AoE and ST, and Unholy’s got a clunky, but strong AoE. Both Protadin and Blood has access to quite a bit of self healing, and I like their utility as well, in fact both felt better than a Guardian or a Brewmaster.
I never liked playing Warriors on the other hand, so can’t tell anything up to date about them.
Well to me the rotation is no issue for DPS or tanking since I use the Hekili addon, it is more of me wanting to avoid investing on anything that is in a state similar to survival spec hunters or Legion-BFA shadow priest
Something can feel great in isolation and not so great once it does not produce ideal results in the job-simulating activities in the endgame (mostly M+).
I do not get how they make even dungeons a competitive endgame and they do not feel obligated to maintain at least one competitive for at least 1 role of each class.
