How do people justify store mounts and ingame store for a game you pay to play?

I bought 2 store mounts back in MoP, huge mistake. They have no value for me and after a few sessions, I never used them again.

Huge waste of money imo

I’m not really trying to bait here. You just give weak examples and they’re quite dull and asinine on top.

How exactly am I meant to provide for claims when I can’t post links on this crappy forum half the time?

Here, I made a well thought out topic onto this already, you can check it up. It provides all the store mounts and their locations ingame.

Stop defending the Transmog set from the shop - Community / General Discussion - World of Warcraft Forums (blizzard.com)

Here we go again with the strawmans. I never said Blizzard forces me to buy storemounts, and technically they are with that reasoning.

Then you are just to be ignored, because you are acting passive aggressive, then complain when others do not come back towards you with respect.

Because you are too blind to see the resemblance they have to both these raids is not my problem at all. I could literally show you Onyxia’s drake and where it to drop off for a random mob, you would feel that would be the only reasoning for it to drop because Blizzard decided that was a better thing to do.

You feel insulted over that?
Here’s what you always do.

You pick fights on forums.
You act like your nose bleeds.
You behave like you know nothing at all, or can’t grasp at logic.
Then you complain when people are getting sick of your behavior.

I did this again with you. You are just ignored at this point.

The store is not part of the video game. In order to acquire the mount via the store you have to go outside of the video game.
Just because you chose to interpret what I said and funnel it’s meaning down to one aspect that you wanted to attack doesn’t mean that is what I said.

I said, Store mounts should be acquirable in-game.
Your response is huehuehue technically you can via gold to tokens to the store huehue

Like come on Daestra, quit playing the fool, it’s just annoying. I’m trying to have a conversation and you’re in here playing who can twists whose words in the most childish way possible. Did I stumble into chuck e cheese? God damn.

Also don’t think I didn’t notice the fact that you said the Heart of the Aspects isn’t from DS, doubled down on it, then ignored it when I pointed out that it literally is.

No you said they were meant to drop from raids and you offer no source at all .

You should have said they "could have and should have " dropped from raids instead you lied and said they were meant to .

Like you are doing now when called out about being a liar.

I hope you do it on all your posting chars then to save yourself .

I lose more money buying 70 euro ps5 games every month than paying 13 euro every month for wow hence why I dont care and you are not forced to pay for it either

also you can just farm gold and buy everything from the store… its there you cant remove it but you dont have to pay real money for it either if you really want items there

Don’t make it so easy Mr strong arguments.

Atleast make your mind up and stick to your guns instead of flip-flopping when called out on it, lol

This proves my point entirely. You didn’t want a discussion, you wanted people to nod and agree with you, we call that ‘bias’.

I said it was never meant to be a boss drop like the OP said simple as that and yes it could have been from DS i apologise .

Look who is being insulting and pandantic now no need for it .

You can get them ingame via gold its the cold hard truth you do not need to spend a single cent on them .

I have not insulted you can you please keep the insults out of your post thanks .

There has been an ingame button for the store for years ,

It is peoples money, they earn it and can do what they want to with it. If they want to buy store mounts, mogs, pets, or whatever Blizzard is selling in the store, it is their own right to do so. No one is forcing anyone to buy those items in there. If you hate the shop then do not buy the items—its that simple.

If you hate the shop, we are allowed to speak out towards it and adress other players about it.

As long they don’t see gear I don’t care, is their money they use where they want.

And it works both ways you have your opinion, I have mine. I see it as a non issue, it is my money what I choose to buy in WOW or elsewhere. Just as it is your money if you choose not to buy certain items in WOW or elsewhere.

I think you are just upset that more are not seeing things your way about the in game shop or maybe you are a bit salty that you have your eye on something and you cannot buy it outright or want to work hard enough to earn the gold in game to buy it, so you come on here to whine about other peoples money and the in game shop.

My big problem with this complaining about the store is that we only attack Blizz for it. They hate on Blizz and go play FFXIV, but… it also has a store and it seems to be much more advanced than Blizz’s. Everyone is hyped about Ashes of Creation and that game is literally a subscription-based game with an itemshop (but no p2w, promise!). The fact that they have to bring p2w is so telling. It means making the shop pay2win crossed their minds at least. Then they sell access to the ptr for $350 and throw in some fomo transmog.

All I’ll say is this - we need to be consistent. If Blizzard is bad for doing this, then how can there be hype for AoC?

Also, I’ll say this other thing - some players just like throwing their money at product. They enjoy having the option to spend more on something they enjoy. When I was playing Dungeon Runners, a tiny MMO without a cash shop and only an optional $5 subscription fee, people would buy dozens of subscriptions a month. Just because they wanted to throw more money at the game and they didn’t have any other opportunity. They would go to their Gamestop, buy out the physical copies (which cost $20 and came with 6 month sub) and would give out the keys to the community for nothing.

It is every right of mine to speak out because store mount buyers are indirectly influencing Blizzard’s way of thinking and there’s a correlation why with BfA we got double the amount of store mounts that were present in previous expansions added throughout one expansion.

People that buy ingame store are indirectly influencing and ruining my gameplay. Because without these people, we would’ve gotten them ingame instead.

I’m not hyped for those games at all.

I only play Old School RuneScape as another MMORPG. Which has no ingame shop aswell. You can buy gametime with gold in that game, but that’s alL

read what i said .

I never insulted you and stop mocking me please .

See above .

So you think its fine to insult others because you have been proven wrong .

I think most people recognize that there is no valid justification for it in a game that requires a monthly subscription to play and would rather have them be obtainable through some ingame activity.

'Tis a shame for sure because it’s clear which types of mounts get the most attention and care from the artists. :upside_down_face:

Is not hard farm two wow tokens and get a mount for free :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s quite harder than any other activity within the game barring from high skill like glad mounts or mythic raids. Because gold as a currency always changes and is used for other stuff aswell. Not to mention the price of the token is always changing. It’s a lot different than let’s say, buying a standard mount from a vendor.

Finance rules at the end of the day. You forget that Activision Blizzard is a corporation. A corporation exists to maximize value and make as much money for the shareholders.

This does mean store mounts, store toys, store pets, store mogs and store services if they all maximize shareholder value. You will always have a store because its a no brainer, they can make money off it, there are mount collectors who dont care where their mount comes from, same for pet collectors, mog collectors etc…

For example say 100 people unsub one month, they want to make up this money easily? Add a new mount, pet, or something to the shop and get your lost money back and then some without much development etc…

I will say that compared to FFXIV’s game shop, WOW is conservative in their approach. FFXIV offers mogs for almost every single holiday, pets, mounts, that they regularly release monthly, not to mention in game company (like a WOW guild) homes and single apartment items you can buy.

I make more than 100k per day with 1 hour farm how is that hard?

Pretty much. I’d prefer there was no cash shop, but there’s nothing I could do about it except stop playing, and I don’t think it’s such a big issue to do that.
