How do people justify store mounts and ingame store for a game you pay to play?

This thread is weird. You can argue in every possible direction and most of it won’t be a fact but a wild guess…

I can say this and that mount would have been a drop from this and that boss if there was no people buyinf off of the store… who would even know if that is the case? They put a double detailed mount out of a sudden on a raid boss while all other mounts are 3 pixels compared to 20?

The mounts on the store are made for the store. They got way more animation and details to them so people would even buy them. Yes this is my opinion I am not saying I am right here.

Also there is alot of people who play the game for fun and goldmaking and it is a nice goldsink for them in some way too outside the blackmarket ah.

Pretty much this. Each person’s wallet is his own personal business. Me or any other random internet Joe have no say in what others do with their money.

Saying that people who buy store mount’s don’t directly effect your gameplay is such a wrong way of seeing it, because they actually do. Because without the store, you could’ve gotten that mount aswell.

AFAIK you don’t NEED to use shop. Mostly cosmetic things. I might be wrong though as i returned to wow after leaving it at 2007. Noticed one can buy playing time, and gold with tokens. I guess last one is the reason why there is so few bots compared 2007.

Its just a mount. A tool to get from point A to point B. It doesnt give more speed or a dmg buff or something.
Regardless if you use the cheapest sw horse or the store mount, you will still get to point B on the same time. :man_shrugging:

They’re optional.

I could understand and empthise more with people agaisnt store mounts if they were faster or gave something extra but you can buy them with gold or ignore them completely .
Could or should some of them be rewards for achivements or rep or drops yes maybe but no matter what there would be grumbles .
You could say for sure if they added some for rep and whacked 250k for example on them people just like they did with spider and frogs and dino’s would go nuts over the price .

You did not pay for the store mount content tho. That’s why they are store mounts because it’s not part of the sub.

Same way FFXIV justifies them. They have an entire store full of cosmetics and mounts and yet SOMEHOW no one bashes SquareEnix for it, but instead FFXIV is praised all over by the WoW haters (and ppl on this forum).

As a matter of fact, the FFXIV real money store is like six times the size of the WoW one in terms of things you can buy.

It’s ok when Yoshi P does it, but when it’s Blizzard it’s EHMEGERD EVUL CORPORATION?

Get over it.

Correct me if I am wrong. But you can play a decent amount of final fantasy without a sub. And for wow only to level 20. I really think they should raise it to 50. Because for new players 20 is nothing have not experienced a lot and actually almost nothing.

I paid 25 euros for the blue fox mount.

On the Classic forums people are saying the boost so you can play TBC is pay2win.

It’s a boost to 58, then you have to level to 70.

I think the OP is one of those players.

I posted something similar, but to be fair Yoshi P has stated that his budget for FFXIV is far less than WOW’s budget, yet they churn out a really good game, so you could say they are putting the money earned from their store to good usage.

This is a weak argument seeing as Blizzard themselves have stated that some mounts are made specifically for the store. Which would then mean that without the store you would not get them ingame instead in some kind of way and instead just not get them at all.

some people got to much money and spend it on what they want.

If you think any of the store mounts are good looking or even “Worth” buying.

Then something is wrong with you.

Plenty of better looking mounts ingame

Simple. I live in a country where they tax even taxes and we have to pay extra taxes to upkeep gigantic useless bureaucracy.

So I am kind of used to it one mount that I am not forced to buy is nothing compared to how much I am forced to pay from the F-uppery of morons in charge who basically throw my hard earned tax money to endless well.

Humans don’t make much sense most of the time.

Reminder that people don’t seem to realise what are they giving blizz money for since day 1. I suggest you read your EULAs carefully before going edgelord.
Alas, before I get any replies - it never works. Ppl never read or are stuck within their headcannons so hard it’s impossible to reason. It’s usually “either with me or blizzard shill”

There are plenty of mounts I could never get in the game (especially limited time ones) but I’m not making threads about that. Whether they’re gladiator, KSM, mythic raid or simply limited time 5M gold mounts. If people have these mounts good for them.

What’s it to you how I use my money? Are you mad there are mounts in the game people have but you can’t afford or don’t see as a valid investment?

BTW there are mounts that can/could only be earned outside the game like the Hearthstead. Are you gonna complain about those too?
