How important is covenant choice

I just got shadowlands a few weeks ago, returning from classic. I’m now at the point of choosing a covenant. Wowhead tells me that for monk, kyrian is best but really anything apart from Venthyr is good.

However, Venthyr are, IMHO, the coolest and I really like the teleport ability when out exploring the world. A 3 min cooldown instead of having to mix another brew toss into my rotation is also appealing for simplicity reasons.

Does it matter if I choose Venthyr for the looks? Will it significantly affect my ability to tank and heal mythics and raids?

I’m also wondering if Venthyr might be due a buff in a future patch.

Pretty sure it will be buffed in the next patch 9.0.5 (date: unknown).

    • Fallen Order’s (Venthyr) fallen Tiger and Ox adepts have had their stats increased by 20%.

But the Covenants do play a major part in how viable a spec is. Perhaps not for low keys or the normal raid, but if you try to push, it is quite significant in many cases.
