I am trying to find the “main” for The War Within, and primarily do WPvP or BGs, and I wanna play a spec that can do well, without relying on healers or team mates. 
This means I wanna be able to go up against other classes, without feeling like I’m playing a spec that isn’t designed for solo PvP.
How is SPriest at this?
To be fair i haven’t dueled in ages but if you know what your doing SP is pretty strong as it has a lot of great tools. Dots, healing, dispels, cc etc etc.
Now we’ve known better days and some classes will wreck you, but in my opinion maining a SP is always a good idea
I definitely feel like it could be strong in duels, seeing that SPriest has so many different ways of healing itself passively. As well as spammable dispels, which was one of the things I really loved about Shaman.
I have played Hunter for quite some time now, and have started to feel the annoyances of having looong defensive CDs, instead of having heals…
I also usually pick classes that use sword tmog, since that is what I like looking at on my characters, but I have now rotated through them all multiple times, and realise that “sword classes” might just not be the playstyle I’m looking for.
And because I think H.P Lovecraft fantasy is some of the coolest fantasy out there, I have been wanting to give SPriest a proper go. Especially Mind Control intrigues me, for when fighting near ledges hehe.
When I fight SPriests in WPvP duels… They SEEM strong, and hard to kill… And hopefully the damage is good too… 
Yeah sounds like you should defo give it a try. The dmg is good and when left alone pretty deadly.
SP has a lot of smaller defensives making it feel a bit tanky but you have to know what your doing. Every global matters. You could also opt in vs a fear that doesnt break as fast or a root. Also about pvp talents, some are better vs some classes.
As said before you really have a bunch of tools, figure out how they work and be cheesy sometimes
It’s not terrible.
Due to stats being through the roof, you can have insane amounts of haste which enables you to do a lot of damage and makes it harder for enemy to kick you.
