Hi, I tried to return to retail, however, I find the hunter rotation extremely dull, is it a problem of the class? to be fair I also leveled until 60 in shadowlands the paladin and the rogue, and everything seems very boring to me (I played my rogue and hunter since 2004 until MoP )
I really want to get into retail, it seems amazing but somehow, after the third quest I’m already bored by the rotations.
any advice without the obvious trolling?

The only thing I can think of is, that you remeber your time in WoW through rose tinted glasses.
The rotations are 1000 times more fun/engaging than they where u p until Pandaria.
Seriously, try Classic server. Its literally possible to play Hunter (or any other character for that matter) with one Finger.
Its so far apart its not even the same game.
to be fair I’m playing Classic but by mentioning it, it becomes a retail vs. classic topic, which is not my intention. however, yes hunter is still extremely simple in Classic, but due to mana management, range issues and other mechanisms, it seems to me more engaging.
But the rose lenses of the past surely are part of my bias 
Hunter is in general a slower class to play. There is more off time.
However rogue isn’t, it’s a rather high apm class atm.

As someone who Frostbolted his way to Cthun and then Steadyshot-Multishotted his way to Illidan I can only repeat, gameplaywise the game is a lot better than it was back then.
