I feel like Delves will become stale really fast

Well for the delve only ppl champ > hero… you can’t get hero to 619. So vault has become to me a crest machine I don’t bother looking now.

There is rarely anything unpredictable about a Delve and so doing them over and over will naturally result in boredom. They just are not stimulating enough. Same with follower dungeons. The solo stuff was a good idea but needs way more variety and challenge if it is to have any repeatable value.

They could do more just by adding RNG pulling any mobs from any part of WoW… Would be a bit better, they would need to work for more mechanics and layouts so that’s less likely to happen lol.

I liked Warfronts, I liked Thorghast, I loved Island Expeditions, I loved Scenarios, but Delves… I just can’t seem to like them. The rewards don’t matter to me me tbh. I find them plain boring and have from the start.
Besides that, with Brann as a helper it’s not fun on my hunters, nightelfs, rogues, mages or any class/race that can vanish/stealth/invis etc. It never works because either Brann, the monkey or the dino will break it.
it’s nearly impossible to skip mobs, so it’s just fight, fight, fight, no need to try and be careful and just try to avoid stuff.
On top of all that the XP is pretty bad while levelling and the choices for Brann are pretty much limited to three Idols.
So yeah, for me they have become stale very fast. So far it’s the only feature i dislike. Never had this before with any expansion. Luckily there’s enough other stuff to do for me and my alts :smiley:

I actually like Delves as they are, as a rather casual DPS player
Queues are extra long, world quests are ‘meh’ as soon as you have some ilvl - at least Delves give you something to do which can provide some rewards
(just out of a 45’ raid queue that never popped-up with my Hunt…)

From the world soul thingy (around 120 key fragments a pop), doing world quests/events (Several WQs award key fragments), and if i’m one or two Delves away from a vault slot, i just do them without keys, but i rarely have to do that, plenty of keys around.

I see Delves as having great potential, because I think there’s a huge demand for progression-driven solo content.

I think the initial hype came from that angle as well, that here was a new form of content that served a sizable segment of players by giving them what they desired.

But I don’t think the current iteration of Delves is very long-term sustainable. It doesn’t really feel like something you’d want to do forever in WoW.
So if Blizzard wants Delves to be an actual evergreen feature with a committed audience, then there’s a lot of work that needs to be put into it.

And although Ion Hazzikostas did frame Delves in interviews as a foundation that Blizzard would build upon based on player feedback, then I don’t really foresee Blizzard being ready with huge revamps and overhauls for the next Season.

And if Delves are just more of the same throughout all of The War Within, then it does feel like a feature that’ll turn stale pretty quickly.
But we’ll see. I think there’s some low-hanging fruit like adding some difficulty modifiers for tiers 9-11, updating the rewards so it’s more worthwhile to farm Delves, and introducing new companions and maybe a few new Delves. And that would be a start.

You do that on alts? I just do the big 4 events and that’s it not enough time lol. I ran World souls once wasn’t worth it for me.

Heard the same from most raiders and m+ players in our guild. Till I reminded them that in season 2 you most likely use delves as a stepping stone again. Best to keep Bran up to date. Seen a few of them now running delves again.

Oh and betcha keys will be reset in season 2 like HK etc.

Probably bc 8s are easy as hell and there’s no point going past them

Well, i do it on two characters, this one (My main), and my warlock alt, that’s about as many world soul events, WQs, and Delves as i can deal with in a week, even if i enjoy the content, there’s a limit.

It’s cuz of Bran. He does no damage even in damage spec, so basically all you have from him is healing bottle throwing machine. This means you are doing the delve, for all intents and purposes, solo. Which is boring. If he did some damage, or anything really besides getting in your way and shouting “Don’t stand in THAT”, while throwing the healz in “THAT”, constantly, it might be a more fun experience. You know, unpredictability adds fun. Imagine him popping some CDs and owning a mob every once in a while.

Or add another companion - ranged, melee, etc.

Delves become currently boring because it is boring. There is nothing new to spice things up a bit. You have one companion, mostly 1 scenario (I bet that’s a bug or intentional for some stupid reason) per delve, utterly broken underwater delves. You have no line of sight on most objects in the delve, mobs cast straight through them. Yesterday a mob also aggroed me while I was gliding over it, way above its head - it’s like the aggro range is 2D, which again limits your options to experiment, which leads to boring grind fests.

Overall mobs are HP sponges, which is insanely boring. Things take much longer to kill than outside mobs, for no reason than to slow you down. Which again leads to boredom.

The puzzles are L-O-L and award the same 2-3 abilities, which are all MEH. We need OP and or fun ones and more of those. By now, I wanna spank Reno and his reactions every time I see him.

Maybe even add a “reverse” route, some delves have this, but very few. It adds some variety.

There are many things that can be improved but SOMEONE has to be willing to do it. Ahem ahem.

They’re great for alts, easy catch-up system.

Otherwise it’s pretty much useless, and actually quite annoying thanks to Brann.

They are not useless, it’s the primary content for casuals like me. What is actually useless are world quests, cuz they give you nothing. Items that are below heroics gear or 1/4 of a key, lol ? 34 Valorstones , yay ? Not to mention they are very few, sometimes I don’t have enought available WQ to complete the spider chest and have to wait for a day.
At this point world quests are only done for the meta chests and nothing more. Which is bad design and wasted ingame system.

The guy has an uncanny ability to stand in JUST the right spot to get in your way, every time. Always. Without fail. Hmmm.

Fair enough, wrongly worded from my side:). To me they don’t offer anything anymore to progress with. Yeah, Brann could gain 5 more levels but … mhm … I barely notice what he’s doing anyways, unless he decides to swim away while aggroing the mobs you just pulled in one of those underwater ones.

I think World Quests, apart from gold, were always in a weird spot and only gained their niche with the epic chest for doing 3 world quests in a specific zone (mostly to get a mount, chance on legendaries, reputation).

I’ve always considered the WQs cheap content, and I’ll stick to this statement.

Even the special assignments completely lost their value here, other than perhaps some reputation gains.

Oh yeah. I love when he shouts “You can’t stand in that!” while he does exactly that two seconds later. Such a douche.

They are ( an i’m a delve player) and i defended this format at the start .
After 2 months become pointless .

Last week 6 of 7 of my alt’s got tokens. ( this week i didn’t do a single delve )

The hero gear can go to 619 in delves since they cannot further upgrade due the not-obtainable gilded crest .

So you have the delusion of obtaining Hero item but you forget that champion gear 619 ilvl is the same with the Hero gear at 619 ilvl.

There is zero progress in Delves and people do them just because there is nothing else to do within the game . /Facts

I like their concept
But I think that they fail as an extra game pillar because they do not go high enough (in ilvl) to reach the roof they the pillar is supposed to support.

It is similar to the problem in the rewards for M+. We cannot have the mythic raiders feel that they can spam something else for gear.

They really should offer tier 9, 10, 11 and a new tier 12 with the option to get gilded crests, however a tier 10 delve needs to be as tough as a +10 mythic plus key in order for this to work, otherwise they’ll just be farmed by people who already have 626+ gear for the crests like before.

Something else the Delves were supposed to end at tier 13 .

So a Delve 13 would be ok to give gilded crest .( an 8+ mythic + is a joke right now )

Also don’t forget that you get 2 crest .

Currently spending 25-30 minutes to clear an 11 . So needing 45 delves to cap is going to cost a lot of time as long as you don’t wipe and wait for cds .
