I love rp the community, I really do

Yeah my weekly online pencil and paper game isn’t just an excuse to spend time doing a thing with my friends who live in different parts of the country but that is a big part of it.

Yeah fair enough I agree that it’s a hobby / an excuse to do something with friends - what I’m saying is more that you shouldn’t get into the mindset that your character is directly the avatar for [you the player] but more like a story character you are writing for or something along those lines if that makes sense

Oh ofcourse, thats just healthy. while its one thing to take from personal experience and use that to reflect on an ongoing storyline, its another to self insert coz thats just a gateway drug to Mary Sues, and nobody likes a Mary Sue

that’s funny, what makes you say that? which book is it written in?

Yeah this guy gets it.

When you find such, tell me also. Thank you.

can you please not post your 2 cents everywhere, your karma from you comparing RPers to national socialists wont get any better until you address that tiny matter in your own guild thread

I doubt they ever will.

I hate to break it to you but an RP realm does say you have certain rules in the channels, such as /s, /y, and /e.
They might’ve enforced it but I believe it’s for the best because they seem to love RP and AD more then. Or else they wouldn’t respect the rules.

To be clear, this is what the policy used to be, correct? As in, they used to have these limitations for talk spelled out on a page but now they no longer do and they only have a page talking about the naming rules. Right?

Possibly, I might be an old school kinda guy when I say this but even tho it was the past and possibly previous rules I liked them.
It really made RP realms wholesome where now people are just griefing RP with XDDDD in /s or even beyond just XD’s.
I’m sure you get where I’m coming from.

Yes, I get it. I personally abide by these old school rules too, that is, I don’t put anything non-RP into any of these channels you mention (I don’t RP, but I communicate using other channels).

Likewise yeah!
I prefer using /w, /i, /p, or even /g for some of these things. If they’re the opposite faction then quickly add them on bnet and say “I meant to say going, not gong.”

It’s just these little things that make AD better and better each day.

Now this is actually based.

Better to ignore typos like this and move on. 90% of the time, people understand what you were aiming to say.

Quite true, at least from my side.

I make typos often myself, too often one can say. In those cases if it was needed I go like… If I mispelled Barracks as something else, I say “Barracks, ahem.” which is a decent solution.

Yeah IC solutions, I use them often too and I think it’s quite IC of you to do that!

Has my characters often asked if they are alright after so many mistakes in spellings too… Oh well, can’t help my typing.

But then, wasn’t hard to make creative excuses for those either. Bit of throat damage from earlier (I mean temporary injury), some gas smelled or such. Or being weary (like myself).

That only works once in a blue moon. If its too often, it starts to seem jarring and weird.

I always correct myself if it was in /s, but if it was in emotes I just let it be.
