I want to just heal

I’m starting to think about which characters to main during DF.

I’ll definitely have a healing class for dungeons (will level them with a DPS spec), but I’m wondering which one is the most standard for healing, i.e it’s just heals, not much (if any) damage dealing needed.

I used to main a resto druid, I like the HoT style.

But I’m thinking about trying something new. I enjoyed levelling my elemental shaman so thinking maybe resto shaman or even holy priest. I could even stick to the druid.

Paladin isn’t a playstyle I like. Monk seems too DPS centric.

I’m not likely to do any high end raiding so not worried about min/maxing.

I just want to heal and not have to DPS - as much as this is possible at least.

This is a good choice , they got a tone of utility not only good heals .
We need more healers

You already figured what specs are most suitable for your need. For the rest, dps interferes in some ways. Not sure about evoker tho.

Holy priest is probably the closest thing to a “pure” healer.

Is it a case of not having to damage at all or just less than other classes?

If it’s mostly healing I’ll have to decide if I want to go HoT or NoT.

Orc Shaman with a shield seems pretty cool looking.

Always appreciated the holy priests when I was a Druid, but not sure if I want to be that direct with healing, we shall see.

healing is damage dealing in mordern wow …

if you plan to do any kind of progress with it…

Only Classic can satiate this need of yours. Tanks can self sustain quite well and a good group of DPS too can avoid lots of damage. And in a key, you’ll be expected to do something, you can’t just linger around (well you can, but can draw the teammates’ ire because your dps lets you finish faster).

I agree on your PoV with pallies and monks, big no, but MW is similar to Resto in relying on a handful of HoTs.

Both Holy priest and Resto shammy are reactive healers unlike your main, so your work will be done after dmg has been dealt.

No worries, if you do DPS you won’t be picked on even if you just cast a DoT and a lightning bolt. It’s only a secondary job. Just make it look like you try, so always cast a little something if there’s nothing to prepare for.

Maybe you should just try the healers and find what suits you most! thought i think imma main Most likely evoker XD

Go preservation evoker when they release.
Really fun class to play once you get used to it.

It has tons of utility and some pretty powerful heating spells

Would save on some bills this winter ngl.

Wait till final rund of BUFF / nerfs couple of weeks into expansion check what is meta and Play that . That’s the best way to choose wjatvyou will be playing to not meet with constant declines .

What would you say is the easiest healer to do well as?

The easiest usually is your prefered playstyle, since you connect the most with it.
And obviously we do not know yet about the scalings of the different classes, so we do not know which healer will perform the best.

It depends on how high the OP intends to push. At lower levels (up to KSM), dps can provide plenty of opportunities to heal by standing in everything. It’s only once you get into higher keys where not moving or using a defensive means a insta-death that dps learn how to stay alive. I think the change to loot in DF will mean 15s tend to be populated by less skilled players because the skilled players will be doing 20s for the vault rather than 15s.

tyressa what is wrong with your character??? ahahaha

Some pre-patch weirdness, I guess. In game, I’m able to talk in guild chat, but don’t show in the list and everything I say has ‘Tyssera-Argent Dawn’ next to it. (AD was my old realm, but that was a long time ago.)
