Look, you’re likely in your early 20s and have no idea how life will look in your 30s, 40s and so on. The thing is, that the leisure time you have is rare when you get older. Former hardcore players won’t have the time to play 3-4 hours, likely more 1-2 at maximum.
You see everything simply from your pov and how the game needs to be, but fact is that this isn’t healthy for the discussion. Ion has also stated in the past that there are many different kind of players in WoW and just aiming towards one group isn’t a proper approach and he knows that. Just because you want the game to be hardcore - which it NEVER was, you would know that when you played Blizzard Games since the early 90s - it doesn’t mean that everyone else around you will stop playing the game. It’s a selfish thought that everything revolves around your gaming habits. Good games crater more demographics instead only one.
I don’t think anyone boasts about their LFR Jaina kill, they just got to see the content. However you will frequently see CE raiders sitting on their Jaina exclusive Mythic only mounts dotted around. The real prestige is having them early on when the leaderboard is only just starting to fill.
Those with insane amounts of gold can buy a run and get their mount, many of the realm first type guilds sell runs for this purpose and it helps fund their future realm first races and line their own pockets of course ;). Boosts are not new to the game though, people have always bought them for various content.
I know you think that you’ve done some kind of grind to get to 381 but you really haven’t. You are a very average item level. There has been catch up gear in most expansions now. It allows players to return to the game and not be excluded from everything or being forced to do older content in order to gear up. It’s a great for both returning players and those gearing alts.
But I can see we aren’t going to agree, I didn’t think I’d change your mind but I thought I could try and offer a different perspective.
I just checked your profile, you are an LFR player since Legion, you are a casual player so ofc you don’t want lfr/lfg to be removed. No wonder why you’re not willing to understand rofl, actually funny. By the way, the ilvl 381 is not much of course, I just wanted to show how easy is to get ilvl in this trash expansion.
If you have 1-2 hours per day, then don’t cry, if I’ll have the same amount of time to allocate in wow I won’t cry, but I’ll still be against LFR/LFG. Is about being immersive and being satisfied.
Heirlooms are a thing because the levelling system is so damn bad now.
Levelling 1-120 offers no challenge or anything interesting. It’s fragmented, routinely introducing new features (garrisons, etc) only to abandon them when you move past the content a few hours later.
People just want to get to max level ASAP because there’s no reason to care about gearing or the process of levelling anymore.
If Blizzard makes levelling rewarding or worth it, then Heirlooms won’t be needed.
There ain’t no real prestige. No one cares about that ‘‘prestige’’ ask the old devs. Ask who you want. Nobody cares. The number of players talk for themselves and I don’t have to argue with you about this. And I really hope the retail will die once classic will be released. I really hope so, so the devs will see the real dedicated playerbase wich was taken away for furries and casual people. Later.
The heirloom level xp should be given per character at max level, 10% bonus per character to all subsequent characters that resets every expansion because you’re not max level anymore.
Indeed classic was intented to be for casual people, but it was wayyyy harder compared to this expansion. And if you say classic is easier than retail…boy…you are really a special one. Later
I would suggest stop posting false interpretations and showing more empathy towards everyone else. And secondly, what “immersive and being satisfied” means is for each person self to decide. If you’re not happy with the current direction of the game, feel free to play the 80s and 90s RPG which are likely more of your taste when it comes to Hardcore.
Because I don’t like the graphics. And false interpretations ??? Just take a look to see how many people want the old exprecience back. I’m not the single one who wants that.
I’m the opposite, I hope Classic has enough interest to keep it going. I don’t think there is any risk to the main game. The struggle will be holding on to the players who all go and try Classic.
The main game will be a ghost town when Classic launches because a huge number of people will go and try it. However many will return, some will play both and some will just play Classic.
I wish both games to be a success. I also intend to play both but they are two completely different games at this point.
