Being friends with someone does not mean you can’t have a debate/discussion with people.
I am friends with several regular posters, we frequently don’t agree.

It does sometimes feel like an uphill climb, but just post and be yourself, I never expect that everybody will agree with me, but I can still post and have fun on the forums

This is an interesting subject. Certainly in groups like Discord communities, here on various forums sections or just in-game guild, ‘the grouping behavior’ comes up fairly often.
Isn’t though part of Human nature? To form a group of individuals alike and share you time with them?
I see it like this: you, as individual, choose the ‘group’ you want to be part of. Like I said, is a choice.
I’m saying this because, when I read your post, I feel you’re criticizing this behavior although you, and many other, might behave the same way when you’ll be part of something.
This statement can be apply to certain situations, depends on the point of view in my opinion; although it seem it as something inevitabile.
You’re cool in your own way, and if you’re interested in keeping your identity you’ll eventually find people like yourself.
Humans are not as unique as some might think to be quite honest.
However, I think you can somewhat limit the feeling of exclusion (because you cannot eradicate it) when you don’t care about others. Excuse me if I use the term loosely, when you are not jealous about other’s relationships.
I agree with this. There are members on the Discord I don’t agree with them at all, it doesn’t mean will affect my posting nor my relationships with other members.
As for OP. I didn’t follow any of the drama; I apologize for posting on this thread since my post is not related to what happened.
I think drama that happened on different platforms should not be merged but that’s my ignorant opinion.
Honestly, not being part of FF Discord should not impact your forum posting here, WoW official forums that is.

I value people a lot who judge the post and not the poster - given the small user base of this forum, it’s sometimes hard. I do my best, but I have to admit, that occasionally, I catch myself reacting to a post in a different way, because of who posted it. And I hate it when I do that. The problem is, that I often realize it much later.

I don’t think it’s a problem grouping with people because i do this, way, way, way less than the average person but i still do, what i don’t like about it is exactly that thing you mentioned: group-behavior, i couldn’t find the word in the original post, i hate group-behavior on places were there’s others than those who compose the group.
The personal problem i have is that it’s almost unavoidable that i start to question myself if i am thinking wrong because the surroundings think differently, discouragement is almost inevitable. It’s complicated.

I don’t think people meant to flip it to Pizza talk, but sometimes people do tend to lighten a thread with some humour, especially when the topic is emotional and upsetting. If you see the earlier responses you will see that Leafkettle received a lot of support, I am hopeful he does read them and returns to the forums.
