Improvised Cypher Analysis Tool

I just bought and used Improvised Cypher Analysis Tool on my main (https://www.wowhead.com/item=188793/improvised-cypher-analysis-tool). After using it, it just disappears. No buff or mention of it anywhere. Is this intended? How do I know if it’s working?

I imagine it will literally just reward you with 50% more the next time you loot the items

According to comments on wowhead running this script will show if you’ve applied it to that character:-

/run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(65282))
