Is Alleria dead?

So I’ve watched the cinematic several times and she looks alive while falling through the Darkwell but I watched an interesting video and I’d like to ask you guys if you think that’s possible.

So lore experts, put your tinfoil hats and hear me out. What if Alleria truly died when Xalatath stabbed her and her body was used as a vessel for N’zoth? Would be that be plausible in your opinion?

Could we potentially find a fairly normal Alleria only to have the big reveal sometime later?

God, I hope so. I want some stakes in this soggy bowl of cereal.

But probably not. If there is a positive to take front this, I would really like a humbled Windrunner if not a dead one.

I think that would be really good and probably save the story for me.

I love Alleria but I do hope she is dead. Having her survive is such waste of narrative weight which is why I jadedly know in my soul she lives.

A youtuber ( discordiankitty) made a video on this, she believes when Xal’atath stabbed and killed alleria, the sword/dagger contained n’zoth ( forgot who it was, the octopus guy) or something that Wrathion sealed inside the sword/dagger. This could esplain why she seemed alive as the old god is awakening inside her body.

That’s where I got the idea from. It doesn’t belong to me. I mean, it is a fun speculation isn’t it?

  1. No one in this melodrama is dying without making a production out of it.
  2. Since N’zoth was very much a non-character in practice, does it make a difference if it is a corrupted Alleria, N’zoth or some other void nobody?

I mean… this is the kind of melodrama i’d like to see. It’s cheesy, but fun nonetheless.

Not really, no. It doesn’t matter to me who possesses her body as long as there is a twist to her death.

I mean I would take that over a happy family reunion any day :sweat_smile:

Now that’s the kind of plot that Azshara could be involved in.

Here’s my observation.

  1. Alleria is stabbed with the Black Blade of the Empire
  2. Said Blade was used by Wrathion to stab N’Zoth
  3. Technically this Blade absorbs Entities, so N’Zoth maybe isn’t even dead
  4. During the Crown of Cosmos Cutscene Alleria has her eyes open and moves her mouth but doesn’t respond. We also don’t get any in-character clarification if she is dead. Arator treats his parents as “lost”, not dead. If Blizzard would have wanted to make clear she is dead, they would have had Turalyon say so in the cutscene probably and have Xal’atath wait before she nukes the Spire.
  5. Final Conclusion: Alleria, who formerly was the host for L’ura, has now become the Host for the remaining essence of N’Zoth that was transferred from the Blade. Which basically means at some point later N’Zoth will kill her as his host and take over the body or make her do something to return himself into an own body again.
