Is Dragonflight going to make it?

So far there’s no Alpha it seems, no Beta and we don’t even have all talent trees out yet.
And for those we have, there has been multiple people explaining obvious issues with it.
Similarly to how obvious issues were pointed out in Legion, BFA and SL, the latter two being unanimously considered failures as they’ve not addressed players’ concerns and devs went the way of “we know better” and proving that they absolutely don’t.

I’m getting sceptical.
I can’t imagine they can make it in time, releasing good game.

Talent trees again have inherent flaws (basically the overusage of “lines” - thus limiting your choices and forcing you to spend it on some required stuff - for example in Holy Priest talents, YOU HAVE TO SPEND ALL POINTS in first and second row. There’s no way of avoiding talents on any of those rows.).

And since it coupled with hardcore prunning, you may lack talent points to get back fun abilities you previously had baseline, but aren’t that strong (like Hibernate)… or it costs too much to get an ability (Cyclone) and you have to pick garbage stuff along the way (magic damage increase as Feral).

I’m sure they wouldn’t have given a 2022 release date if they didn’t think it was a realistic goal. Especially considering most people were not expect it until at least March 23. Why would they put it out early if they didn’t think it would be ready.

They’re probably just keeping a little more unwraps than usual, because of a lot of previous criticism that too much story content and general spoilers was being made public.

I’m sure they can realistically release it.
I just doubt that if they release it in time, it’s going to be garbage.

So they can announce pre-order, people buy into it and their quarterly earnings call looks better. Or if you don’t understand anything I just said: “money”.

Doesn’t seem so. Why wouldn’t they show us talent trees if they had them all ready?
Why no replies on concerns if they have it mostly done and they just don’t reveal it?
It seems like they don’t respond to concerns because they don’t have time to.
It seems this will be BFA 3.0

Might be going the FFXIV Route and not do beta / ptr to keep the mysterious regarding the expansion and not have everything spoiled / metad out before release.

The talent tree reminds me of the TBC years i was playing back then.So i like it like that.
For your question i will see if i like it when it is released and if i still play.
Its going to be alright though.

You never have been a ray of positivity have you.

By putting a date on their pre-order they are committing to that date. If they miss the date, you can demand a refund. Getting good quarter figures, isn’t worth having to report that you had to refund all the money on the next quarter.

Because they’re releasing details through their blogs slowly, piece by piece.

Because they’re collating the information together, to put an official response/statement along with any changes they’ve made. This is normal.

Oh, so you think it’ll be a good expansion then.

TBC had none of the issue of talents… your base class kit was much larger and your talents didn’t require certain pathing and none of them were mandatory.
Talent pre-requisitions were like 4 per tree.
Now it’s basically every single talent that has pre-requisitions with the exception of 4, but then even one of those 4 is mandatory.

So it’s extremely different from TBC.

People said that with corruption, azerite gear, conduit energy and covenant not swappable too though.

It wasn’t.

Normal for them is not to reply and release it in garbage state.

You can considered BFA good?
Alright.
Well, people generally didnt.

Sure, so they probably will commit to the date and sabotage the expansion in process, it being 3rd bad expansion in a row. Simply because they’ll again ignore feedback.
Or rather. They already are.

I believe it might be different now because as far as we know we wont have so many systems on top of systems etc. In BfA we had Island Expeditions and Warfront and both of them kinda failed. They didnt really announe any systems like that yet so maybe development time will be shorther because they dont need to spend so much time on some trivial stuff.

We are gettign new talent system and new profession system which is probably easier to develop than all of those systems in BfA. In Shadowlands they had to alter Torghast multiple times, and we cant forget about covenants.

Maybe in Dragonflight they will take more time to better develope some core game systems rather than adding so many new ones that need longer development time.

Their “bad expansions” have been massively successful.

I’d wait until the bad ones started doing bad before I made a good one. Why waste good ideas when you don’t need to?

We see it in patches, the drip feed in just enough to get people resubbed. They are absolute masters.

Why do you even play this game?

Yes, it was a great expansion.

A lot of people did enjoy it as well. Guess it was hit or miss.

And again, why do you even play this game?

If you don’t like the game, if you don’t trust the company, you haven’t even liked the last 2 expansions! Move on. Find something else.

Torturing yourself with something you don’t enjoy doing is just bad for your health.

I am worried about the release date being too early and would have preferred a 2023 release, but we have to wait and see.

That’s all we can do.

It definitely was not. :joy:

It’s among the worst together with Legion.

Well, what else can they spread their negativity on?

I enjoyed it, others didn’t :grinning:

See my 1st reply :rofl::pizza::pizza:

Now see, I’d say wrath was the worst for me, as i played it so much i grew to hate it.

But as is commonly said, if we all liked the same things, the world would be boring.

Obvious issues? I see no problems with the new talents. Its not an issue just because you simply dont like them.

I think they are going to announce beta in August, once WoTLK Classic is out and I’m hoping for a November release (just to avoid christmas chaos) Alpha is usually friends and family, no?

Money-wise, maybe.
But player-wise WoW is at its lowest.
During Shadowlands it got extremely bad that even blizzard had to start making the game better and going back on their philosophy of arbitrarily throddling players.

I elaborated that in different thread.

It is an issue same as covenant not being swappable was an issue.
Sure some forum trolls tried to explain why it’s not, but they had absolutely no arguments and players quitting speaks for itself.

Well there’s no way to say considering they have only released the talent calculators for 3 classes. So not sure what to expect.

Thing is, nobody but Blizzard know exactly how far along they are in development, maybe they’ve stopped on SL and moved onto DF.

The only time we can accurately guage development is when Alpha is released, unyil then its just pure speculation

Doomsaying.

Some people revel in it. It’s their thing. Some people play WoW because they think it’s fun. And some people play WoW because they like to critique the design.

Different folks, different…
