[Kaldorei-RP] 🌘 Hunters of the Firmament

☞⸰⸰ Hunters of the Firmament ⸰⸰☽

Kalarar'mush'as

Ten thousand years ago, war engulfed the entire world of Azeroth. From the depths of the defiled Well of Eternity, endless legions of demons poured forth. They descended upon the world, slaughtering its inhabitants - not merely killing them, but defiling body and mind alike, devouring flesh and soul.
In this age of chaos, as the greatest and most important metropolises of the Kaldorei Empire fell one by one, countless heroes and brave souls rose to defy the cosmic threat. Amid the siege of Suramar, a priestess of a forgotten circle of the Sisterhood of Elune - and a student of High Priestess Dejahna - set out to lead those from the city who could not afford the favor of the nobility to safety.

Accompanied by a retinue of her priestly sisters, they fled the city, hoping to find shelter and refuge in the city of her birth, still ruled by her parents.

Yet the priestess was betrayed by her own flesh and blood. She, her sisters, and hundreds of innocents were to be sacrificed to a powerful demon with whom the traitors had forged a pact.

In that moment of greatest despair, the priestess gave her life through an ancient ritual. She not only struck down the demon, but bound its soul within a vessel, ensuring it could never return to enact its vengeance. Yet with his final, spiteful breath, the demon cursed the priestess and all who had fallen in the ancient city - condemning them to remain bound to the vessel and subjected to its torment for eternity.

It is this sacrifice that the Order of the Kalarar’mush’as will honor for all time.

~

Even now, demonic remnants, tormented spirits, and dark perils linger in the deepest and most forgotten reaches of our forests. Even now, hostile invaders trespass upon our enchanted nightwood realms. And cosmic threats beyond this world continue to loom, threatening to consume all.

The Hunters beneath the Firmament endure the darkest of nights, so that their kin may walk in the light of the Goddess.

Kalar melore.
Valas-adore.

The Order

The Hunters of the Firmament, also known as the Kalarar’mush’as or Lunarglaives, were once a venerable order of warrior-priestesses originating from the temple cities of Lathar’lazal and Hajiri. After the War of the Satyr, they were incorporated into the Darnassian army as a specialized Sentinel unit.

They venerate the Moon Goddess Elune as the supreme deity of Azeroth and uphold the cultural pillars of Kaldorei society. Their patron is High Priestess Kalo’thera, yet their true idol is the priestess Alya Lunarkind, also known as the Martyr, whose sacrifice is regarded as the highest ideal within the order.

Alya’s Shal’nar, Mered’nai Lunarkind, currently leads the Order of the Kalarar’mush’as.

The Hunters of the Firmament specialize in combating cosmic horrors, redeeming tormented Kaldorei spirits, and cleansing lost and cursed remnants of the ancient empire. They share a profound bond with the souls of the fallen and believe that the worthiest Kaldorei souls - and the greatest heroes of the world - ascend to become constellations in the night sky. The veneration of these star-signs has become an integral part of their culture.

From their mountain stronghold in the most remote depths of Winterspring, they send forth brave souls to face the gravest horrors threatening the Kaldorei people.

They’re a secretive society. Some would call them a sect of the sisterhood, yet they still answer the call of the High Priestess and fight in the name of all Kaldorei.

The Roleplay

Hello, friends of Argent Dawn!

Hunters of the Firmament is a strongly story-driven roleplay guild for Kaldorei who wish to dive deeper into night elf lore and expand upon it with ideas of their own.

The guild’s focus lies firmly on telling a cohesive, ongoing story, brought to life through D&D-inspired adventures supported by an RPG-style dice system. Our writing style places great emphasis on detail and immersion. Atmosphere, culture, and a strong sense of identity as an ancient Kaldorei order are central to everything we do.

The order we portray is fairly traditional and conservative, drawing heavily from a Warcraft III–era vibe, which we then shape and refine according to our own vision. This aesthetic and mindset are integral to the concept we aim to realize.

At the time of writing this post, we are a very small group. Storytelling through roleplay and the play-by-play experience of intense, RPG-style missions is our primary mode of play. The tone of our stories often leans toward the heavier, darker, and more mature. The stakes are always high. Themes include the struggle against terrible foes, confronting the horrors of war, hatred toward enemies, and fighting for Elune’s paradise upon Azeroth - alongside devotion to the Goddess and the Wild Gods, a deep bond with nature and the forests, and the preservation and upholding of ancient traditions, rituals, and culture. The remnants of the Kaldorei Empire and the legacy of the Highborne, as well as conflicts and alliances with their surviving remnants, also play an important role.

We are primarily looking for players who enjoy being true Kaldorei lore enthusiasts and don’t mind reading a bit more or enriching roleplay with detail. Those who enjoy leading stories themselves, engaging deeply with guild lore, and building upon it with their own ideas are always especially welcome.

Outsiders who might join

Worgen:

  • Night elf worgen are permitted, as long as they are portrayed in a grounded and credible manner, without exaggeration or the excessive use of growth potions. If your RP convinces us and your character comes across as being authentic, we will welcome you! (Both genders!)
  • Moonclaw Warriors: We accept female human Moonclaw Warriors. This is due to the more conservative points of view of the ic order.

Nightborne:

  • We accept Nightborne character models that are used to portray Highborne or more stylized Kaldorei.
  • We also accept Nightborne that are discontent with their people joining the Horde and are - for whatever reason - feeling more connected towards the Kaldorei. Bear in mind that joining with a Shal’dorei technically would make your character a traitor to the Horde and by extension to the Nightborne themselves.

Demon Hunters:

We view Demon Hunters as a powerful prestige class (same as Wardens or fully-fledged Moonpriestesses) that would usually not belong into a zealous, elunarian order. However if your Demon Hunter is devoted to protecting the Kaldorei at all costs and still feels a strong connection towards the Moongoddess and the world and we feel your character being authentic and your rp convincing, you might join with an Illidari character!

Of course you could also use the Demon Hunter class to portray other specialized concepts.

We are currently in the process of gathering and finding our footing. We will likely host a first introductory and meet-and-greet event after the midnight release. Check this thread in the future so we can keep you posted!

If your interest has been sparked, feel free to reach out to us - we’d be happy to hear from you!

See you in March!

This is a very cool concept led by someone who I know has just about bottomless reserves of energy for DMing and love of Kaldorei lore. I hope this is the start of a great adventure <3

I’m curious, how did you come up with these bits of Darnassian? Do you develop Darnassian as an actual constructed language, beyond the stock words and phrases Blizzard gave us?

That’s the homie right there. Join his crusade

We have been using the so-called Darnassian Dictionary Project since the days of our old community, and for several years now. It originated on the American roleplay servers and expands Darnassian with a vast vocabulary - even including grammatical structures. It’s genuinely a lot of fun to play around with, check it out!

And thank you all so, so much for all the kind words. T_T We absolutely appreciate it! It’s really uplifting to receive such positivity!

Best of luck with the guild! This concept looks very much something that would suit my priestess character if I actively played her. Would you like me to add your guild to the list here?

Thank you so much for your kind reply! We’d be very happy to be added to the list of Night Elf roleplaying guilds - thank you for offering.

You’re always very welcome to check us out and experience our RP with your priestess, should you ever feel like it and have the time!

Nothing has changed. The pain is still the same. I can see your purity take shape in dreams that bring me neither comfort nor rest. Even after all these years, life after life, I still hear your voice whenever I close my eyes. My mind clings to the outlines of your face, refusing to let go of even the slightest part of it. O, how I remember the innocence beaming from your eyes; the way that snowy hair framed your gentle visage; that look sparkling with endless determination, resolve and patience — things that would forever become a paragon for our kin. Words cannot describe how deeply my heart longs for the way your beauty once shone through the darkest places and uplifted every corner it touched. Your laughter like the cheerful singing of birds, your smile like the rising of the full moon on a winter’s night. Words cannot describe the cruelty of the cosmos and the ways of the Goddess, who could not prevent the unjust retribution that would punish you for all eternity for your heroism. O stars, why? Why did you take her from me? How much must a daughter of the Goddess serve before she is granted even the mercy of eternal rest?
Do you suffer as I do, Elune? Do you shed tears when you pass her star—empty and without its light—knowing where she truly dwells? Do you remember how her heart stopped when love died before her eyes, and how hope withered when everything was taken from her? How she gave all that remained of herself to find meaning in her end, so that others might continue to walk beneath your light?
And the terror… when her soul realized that it was not the light of the night sky she was drifting toward, but the endless darkness of limbo, to which she was condemned by her enemies.
And when I close my eyes, I feel the cold rain upon my skin. The shattered skies of her memories and the weathered, ancient pillars of her home. I wander through that place of darkness, where thoughts unravel like spools of thread, and hopes and dreams stagnate into madness, and every most sincere prayer to you, O Goddess, is doomed to rot.
That cursed place where she lingers—unjustly imprisoned—watching over us all, suffering forever. Her screams and her pain become my own, while my reflection is slowly lost within the gloom, each vision another piece of her torn away from me.
The shadows lengthen in Eldre’aran…

Every moonrise rises hollow.
Each fleeting joy is steeped in guilt.
All the Godess’ song are sorrow,
For she forever mourns
Her most devouted children.

Countless snow-white owls coo upon the roof beams of the Hunters’ Hall, which leads into the mountain stronghold of the Sentinel order. It is no easy task to keep snow and owl droppings away from the entrance of the hall, and it has become a never-ending duty for the novices of the Sisterhood of the Moon who serve within the unit.

Between the clear and tranquil days, when Winterspring lies in peaceful, radiant silence, the winds roar through the valleys and relentlessly drive fresh snow upon the roofs of the kaldorei buildings and before their halls.

Yet these days everything is in upheaval.

The priestesses’ frostsabers stir, agitated by the return of their matriarch’s mate. Wisps, charged with blessed moonwell water, melt stone and wood together as they begin the repairs of the fortress and the Hunters’ Hall. The novices spend their nights restoring everything to order and polish. Some of the ancient treants awaken from their frozen winter slumber.

The battle for Amirdrassil cost the order dearly. Little remains of the Sentinel host that once stood here. The time of renewal draws to an end for the Kalarar’mush’as; their wounds have been licked, sealed, and healed — though scars remain.

A new age begins.

The Harbinger of the Void looms ominously above Silvermoon. The Sunwell strains with all its power to hold the cosmic devourer at bay.

It is time for the warriors to awaken.

Time for the Ancients to return.

Time to find those who will face the coming horrors in the name of the Goddess’s vision and the peace of their kin.

The Clarion Call - Introducing our first event

Hello everyone! We hope you enjoyed the Midnight pre-release. Now that everything is slowly settling down, we're eager to finally kickstart this little project.

On March 19th, Thursday, 20:00 server time we’ll be hosting a little introduction event where our characters share lore about the guild, answer questions and run trials and little training sessions to test if your characters are fit for sentinel duty.

If you’re interested to apply for the guild with your character, this is a first opportunity to get to know us and introduce your character. But it’s also a chance for characters who just want to know more about the organization and establish connections.

You can refer to either Enathir or Falkyrn on the day of our event!

We look forward to see you then!

Brothers and sisters, children of the stars,

We are the Kalarar’mush’as — hunters beneath the firmament, Sentinels of the Lunarglaives. Our covenant hails from the most remote and snow-swept valleys of icy Winterspring. For ten thousand years we have followed the guidance of the Moon Goddess and the stars, the example of our first martyr and of all priestesses who served both people and goddess, the wisdom of the Wild Gods, and the call of the souls of our kin — whether they are the sages of the night sky or the lost spirits who face oblivion in the darkness of the abyss.

Even now evil continues to haunt the ancient places of our forests — whether through the corruption of demonic presences, the curses of damned spirits, remnants of the Scourge, treacherous conspirators, or the brazen intrusion of hostile invaders and greedy poachers. And still there are curses and ancient sins buried within abandoned ruins, while great threats lurk in the deepest shadows of our homeland. The Eternal Warrior does not rest, and the Huntress’s Horn is never silent.

Our order has grown small through the wars of recent decades. The battles for Amirdrassil nearly cost us everything. Yet at last we rise again from our losses — strengthened, and ready once more to fight for our people.

If it has always been the deepest wish of your heart to become a protector of our kin and a defender of the Goddess’s vision; to guard our forests and our culture and earn the honor of becoming a Sentinel of our people — then your moment has come.

If you hear the call of our horns and are willing to follow the example of our idol and honor her memory; if you long to break the curses that plague our lands and let Elune’s light bring an end to damnation, then seek us and find us in the late days of the month of Yseralla.

Our banner unites druidic brethren, scouts and spies, warriors and scholars, and wielders of the arcane — so long as you are willing to serve the children of the stars.

Elune-adore.
Kalar melore.

Hey friends!

Our introduction event will take place tomorrow (Thursday, 19th of March) at around 20:00 server time.

The location will be in Ashenvale, at the Sunken Archer statue southwest of Astranaar.
It is the truly colossal one, behind the smaller archer statue that is still intact.

You can contact Falkyrn or Enathir in game for an invite.

This will be our first little introduction and recruitment event. Don’t worry if you miss it, there will be more opportunities in the future once the project gets going.

The event will feature a series of small trials designed to introduce your character, highlight how they approach different tasks, and showcase their skills and knowledge.
We will also make use of dice rolling as well as some other minor RPG gameplay elements.

We hope the event will provide fun and engaging RP situations for everyone involved.

We’re looking forward to meeting you there!

Had the joy of RPing with these lovely lot over the past week and a bit.

There are absolutely brilliant and very welcoming when it comes to Kaldorei RPers.

If you are looking for something with a bit of structure and wanting to try a new adventure, I would recommend them

Thank you so much! It’s a pleasure to have you.

Our guild is still actively running its recruitment campaign and remains open in that regard. So you can still join our RP with your characters if you’d like to get to know us—or even earn a chance to become part of the guild.

So far, we’ve experienced several powerful, emotional, and memorable moments. Parts of the story of the Kalarar’mush’as have been shared, along with the legend of their martyr Priestess. We’ve held various trials where characters could prove their combat prowess, agility, and wisdom—including a few sparring matches.

Some Kaldorei brought deeply complex, fringe-walking backstories that created compelling conflict, which ultimately resolved in very moving and emotional ways. There were moments of friction and connection alike, and we’ve already elevated the first applicants to the rank of Neophytes.

Today, the group traveled through Astranaar and shared their gathered furs, herbs, meat, and other gifts of nature with the village. Afterwards, we carried amphorae filled with rainwater to the Moonwell of Cleansing to help replenish its waters. At the moment, the Kalarar’mush’as are setting up a camp in the forests, preparing for one or two events in Ashenvale before continuing our journey through Felwood on the way to Winterspring.

The goal is to play a little traveling campaign where we play multiple events and adventures in the respective zones. By the end of it, we will help stabilizing Winterspring, facing various foes such as cabals of demon worshippers, nightmare aligned satyr, rogue Blue Dragon henchmen, remnants of the Scourge and other unique foes that plague the ancient valleys.

At the end of it, after each Neophyte passed their trials, introduced themselves and had their abilities tested in real conflict and adventure, those still around will be offered to take an oath, elevating them into the rank of true sentinel recruits.

But until then there’s still a way to go, lots of encounters to be had, challenges to overcome and stories and strange visions that would plague the group at night to be shared.

The group is currently preparing for the arrival of the Farhal month and with it the Byltan festival.

Two more events until then and we’re officially leaving Ashenvale to journey through Felwood and at the end of it, we will reach Winterspring to grant those who made it through the journey the opportunity to take an oath and become Kalarar’mush’as.

We’re still open to newcomers or those who just want to hang out with us during the journey!

Had the opportunity to be a part of the Hunters Intro phase (That is still going!) and participate in a myriad of Events, Missions, Social gatherings, Spontaneous things set up by other players in the current grouping and other fun things!

The setting and story of the guild has a very in depth atmosphere and that can be felt from the get go, even now in its humble beginnings.

The leads approach story creation, mission leading and dungeon mastering just oozes with a deep passion for it and has a great harmony with its playerbase, which has also generated the motivation for other participants to try and create little stories themselves already and is openly welcomed and encouraged.

Even for someone like me, that has recently joined the Roleplay on Argent Dawn from another community and a whole other Language. Two things that bring difficulties to a degree. This guild was a good place to start.

If one chooses to join the Hunters journey that is laid out at any time, they are in for something great!

In Ashenvale, several remarkable events have unfolded over the past few weeks. A small group calling themselves the Kalarar’mush’as—the Lunarglaive Sentinels, or Those Who Hunt Beneath the Firmament—has been moving through the forests around Astranaar alongside a number of potential initiates.

Wherever they made camp, dark blue banners flew in the wind, bearing the image of a sharp moon-glaive rooted into its frame beneath four significant constellations: the Kal’serrar, the heraldry of the mysterious Sentinel order from Winterspring.

For a time, the encampment of the Kalarar’mush’as could be seen near the Moonwell of Cleansing. Guarded by the Ancient Protector Ul’thas, the camp had been warded with special seeds that grew into plants bearing sharp, venomous thorns—plants that emitted warning sounds whenever intruders crossed their boundaries.

Canopy-like tents in deep wine colors stood throughout the grounds, each crowned with keen crescent finials. Sabers rested along the perimeter, while weapon racks bore exotic and unspeakably sharp Kaldorei arms.

It was said that the group had been hunting a network of conspirators tied to the Fel and the Void, and had already slain or captured several suspects. Strange phenomena had also been witnessed throughout Ashenvale now that so many Sentinels had departed for Silvermoon City. The Kalarar’mush’as—whose numbers had grown so few that their Sentinel faction stood near dissolution—were determined to restore order where they could.

Yet amid conflict and bloodshed, there was still room for matters of the heart.

The group now prepares for Byltan, gathering talismans and honoring ancient traditions. Tonight, under careful instruction, there will be dancing and reverence for the coming spring. Dryads, Keepers of the Grove, and furbolgs are being consulted. The rites to honor the season are underway.

But soon the camp at the Moonwell of Cleansing will be struck. And on their journey home to Winterspring, the Kalarar’mush’as and their new potential recruits will take the dangerous road through Felwood.

Looking for officers!

Hey friend!

Our little recruitment campaign is still going on, as we’re slowly leaving the Ashenvale chapter behind. There are two more little events and missions ahead of us.
Currently the group is preparing for Byltan and trying to get into the mood for ancient Spring traditions and rituals.

At the same time they’re investigating suspicious activities from both cultists of the Void and worshippers of the Fel.

In the next week, after the Byltan festival, the group will make their way to and through Felwood and investigate some mysterious murders on Shen’dralar novices, apparently caused by some evil being that escaped the borders of the tainted forests.

Suited characters and concepts

We are still open for newcomers and recruits. Currently, we’re especially looking for veteran players of Priestesses of the Moon, Druids and veteran Sentinels, like Huntresses to take up the mantle of potential officers. If you’re interested to play a character in a position of responsibility, feel free to introduce your character and explain why they would be fit for such a role!

Apart from that we’re mainly looking for Sentinel and Temple of the Moon characters (Novices, Acolytes, servants of the Temple, guardians and warriors).

We’re also open for any kinds of druids, arcane/highborne scholars and spies, pathfinders and hunters (for example former Watchers who want to join the sentinels).

Having a lot of fun with this guild so far! I wanted to find a Night Elven guild that wasn’t steeped in weird clique nonsense, and this one hits the mark. An amazing focus on RP quality and character development. I haven’t often encountered a place where recruitment takes over a month, but you know what? I like it!

The group has now ventured into the depths of Felwood on their journey toward Winterspring, heralding the beginning of the penultimate chapter before the oath ceremony. If they survive the dangers and trials of Felwood, their formal initiation in Winterspring will soon await them.
