Killing wow SOD is a huge mistake

every wow version has its community and it is quite fixed . and in my opinion “wow classic” should’ve stopped at WOTLK. they had something great . and they let it die . some one will say “it always been a beta testing for ideas” , but still not a good argument in my opinion . mop will not attract a lot of SOD players (big reason being that MOP remix was not long ago) , neither retail nor anniversary .

SoD is not killed, you can continue playing it as much as you want, same as many players still playing on classic era. Doing more tiers then we have now within 1 level cap is very big powercreep and very hard to balance with current gear design. And we will have next classic project in near future, it’s better then continuing sod with already so much raid tiers.

Absolute cope. Aggrend took a giant dump on his own game, with 2 months before MoP is even released.
Neither MoP nor Classic are interesting, I tried logging in to Cata and logged back out within 20 minutes.
Thanks Aggrend and team, you truly are one of the teams of all time.

SoD is beta for Classic+. Both have the same target audience and the same dev team. Continuing the development of SoD would cannibalise the resources that could be spent on Classic+, thereby postponing its release and/or resulting in lower overall quality. I assume it’s not in your best interest.

If Cata/MoP/TWW are not good for you, consider playing (TBC) Anniversary while waiting for Classic+

Yeah because Microsoft can’t possibly afford the extra staff. Like SoD hasn’t primarily been 3 dudes the entire time doing next to nothing until Phase 7 and 8 where they got so much grief on twitter they copy pasted in assets they made for Classic + thereby “wasting” that content.
You don’t have to sympathise with this company dude, they’ve spent years ruining their reputation and ignoring the audience. If SoD is gone, there should’ve been an alternative in place for us to go to.
Classic for the 4th time isn’t interesting to those not stuck in 2004. MoP is more akin to retail than SoD or Classic. Should’ve had something else lined up to entertain us over the summer but nope, Aggrend just pulled the plug.

TBC is what naturally follows after the Plaguelands. Very conveniently we have a TBC launch in a few months. It is not yet too late, maybe the devs will follow the voice of reason and give us a transfer after all

Still several months of no content though

The problem is they are thinking we will move all to MoP but no, MoP isnt Classic, many of us will not move there.

I totally agree, but blizzard cares more about our money than our wants and desires.

As of today, this is pure speculation.
