Laggy gameplay but latency is normal

I’m getting substantial delay on my abilities but my latency stays at normal speed of 50ms. On retail.

Here’s my WinMTR log:

And just now I can’t use abilities anymore or loot but I can talk in chat, and my queue just popped so I am partly connected to the servers still.

Hey there!

Looking through your MTR log there’s a few hops that look problematic.

It could be a temporary issue but let’s do some tests to see if we can improve your playing experience.

I would suggest that you start by going through the basic troubleshooting steps just so that we can rule them out.

As a small side-note, some players have reported that toggling War Mode on/off can resolve issues as well which might be worth testing.

It is temporary, seemingly random, issue but it’s also a recurring one.

I’ve done the troubleshooting steps but I still get disconnects or desyncs in raids and Korrak’s Revenge.

My uneducated guess is that the 10.167.0.1 device is the culprit since that’s where the packet loss starts, but if I try to ping that ip I get no response. And the ip before it is our modem. So what could this mystery device be?
I’m also getting this net wirelessly from my landlord so troubleshooting beyond my own devices is a bit tricky. But I did get him to reset the modem.
No real difference afterwards.

Your guess is most likely right on the money here, Conflixion.

As a general rule any IP that looks like 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x belongs to a local network device (a few exceptions exist, but those are rare), so from what shows up in the route there appears to be yet another routing device of some kind in front of what you have identified as the modem.

Sadly we can’t tell for sure what it does just from the WinMTR results, but since it does not respond to pings it could be a firewall of some type - but whatever it ends up being, this device is definitely where troubleshooting would need to start. Your landlord may need to reach out to his local admin for this, or possibly the ISP (if they provided the devices).

A final addendum here: there is unfortunately a pretty fair chance that the combination of a wireless connection and said connection even being shared with other users may not actually allow for anything better in terms of quality than you have been getting so far. Investing into your own, independent connection line may be the only surefire way of getting things into a more happy place.

So a little update here. My landlord had the isp come over and they removed a splitter and changed some of the cables. He then wiped the router and replaced the modem. The last ip was indeed the modem, the x.138 is just acting as a router.
But the packet loss is still there today. I forgot to save the latest log file so all I have is this screenshot I sent him:

Any idea what to make of it? I can’t really tell if it’s the modem only receiving just over half the packets or if it’s the router not sending all of them.
