:open_book: About us:

Lazy Peon Tavern was formed in 2007 as a 10 man guild, raiding Karazhan and Zul’Aman. After a less successful attempt to go 25 man, WotLK arrived and we decided to stay 10 man. We stayed this way until Warlords of Draenor when we expanded to a 20 man raiding guild.

We’re a stable guild in the sense that we’ve never been dead, reformed or had a big change of players. We have raided every tier since 2007, and we have kept a lot of the same people in the guild and have the same guildleader and raidleader. One of the reasons for this is that we decided early on to only recruit people we liked. Over the years we have tried to find good raiders who are also nice people, and to not make exceptions on that policy. We feel this is the reason we have a relaxed atmosphere in the guild with a friendly and humorous mood.

We have one raiding team where every raider is equal. Some guilds have two or more teams and perhaps a bench, where some people get to sit out more than others. We have never had any of that, and we’re only recruiting for our main team.

We are a bit oldschool. When our guild was formed back in TBC, every “real guild” had a website, a forum, and raid-calendar, thus we also got all that. Since that time much has changed. Most guilds have moved away from forums and websites towards Discord (for both voice and chat) and the in game raid calendar. We have however opted to stick with our original setup, which means joining our guild means taking a step back to forumposting, event calendar signing, and Teamspeak. The good old days never have to end!

 Current progression:

Sepulcher of the First One: 2/11 mythic, 11/11 heroic
Sanctum of Domination: 5/10 mythic, 10/10 heroic
Castle Nathria: 6/10 mythic, 10/10 heroic

:memo: Summary of what we are:

  • Stable guild with long raiding history on Silvermoon.
  • Raiding current content 3 nights a week.
  • Relaxed atmosphere in raids, without losing focus or interest in progression.
  • Friendly humorous people.
  • Fantastic art-department (see website news).

:chart_with_upwards_trend: Minimum requirements for a raider-trial:

  • Your gear and experience is close to what we currently raid, or you’re a returning player who’s willing to put some effort in to catch up.
  • You will generally be available to raid with us at least 2 raids a week.
  • You’re age 18+. If you are very “youthful” you just won’t fit into the group. Most of us are in our mid 20s to late 30s.
  • You’re a nice person generally. We don’t want to recruit drama.
  • You’re interested in joining our “community”. We don’t recruit alts.

Bottoms up! :beers:

Ode to damage #4 :boom:

We’re looking for a player who
can greatly complement our crew
Who pushes damage to the max
and doesn’t hold back his attacks
when mobs are spawning all around
to AoE them to the ground.

And if the boss is all alone
he’ll change his talents on his own
without complaints or heavy sighs.
He knows well how to itemize :socks:
for going on a killing spree,
yet has a pleasant personality.

And if we have a massive wipe,
he is of course the relaxed type,
who isn’t sulking or upset
or throws away his whole headset
Instead he’s calm and buffs to full
to be prepared for the next pull.

We seek a player of this kind
who can do jobs and doesn’t mind
to place a voidzone far behind,
or touch an orb if so assigned. :comet:
Who isn’t all about the ranks,
but also keeps above the tanks.

If you’re the type of guy we seek,
or girl (we have no Method-freak!),
then please consider our guild,
before our roster is all filled.

Still seeking a healer and a few dps.

Hello hope you are well, sadly my guild disbanded this week - are you still recruiting?

Hello Xaellin,

Yes we are still recruiting! You can add me on my battletag Luria#2538 if you have any questions!

:boom:Ode to ranged dps #6

This elderly Silvermoon guild
with several mythic bosses killed. :+1:
Is looking for a caster who
can greatly complement our crew.
We seek the types that wear a dress :dress:
and only damage specs possess.
The ones that blink and pyroblast
and portal us to town when asked.
And those that shadow bolt and fear :scream:
and drain the souls of all mobs near.
If mage or lock is what you play
perhaps apply to us today?

Still seeking dps!

Happy Birthday to us! :sparkles: Lazy Peon Tavern is 14 years old today! :tada:

When we signed the charter 14 years ago we were doing it as a bit of a joke. We had recently left a casual family guild because we wanted to raid and long story short they didn’t want that in their guild, so we were thinking of which other guild to join. We were nothing special, just middle of the road “decent players” - at least from my own point of view as a complete endgame-beginner (perhaps some of us were better or worse than decent, I just wasn’t competent enough to see that). It was a bit unclear how big our group was, as we had some members from our old guild who were unsure of if they were staying or going, but we seemed to be less than 10 people so a guild of our own didn’t seem reasonable other than as a temporary banner. Nevertheless we decided to make a temporary guild, who would be led by an ugly dwarf rogue alt as a joke. We thought hard about what the guildname should be, and Zinya, a shaman friend of ours, suggested Lazy Peon Tavern. We got some extra signups on the charter (we needed 10 back then) and then I spent a long time making a tabard that didn’t look bad, but was still funny; and then Lazy Peon Tavern was created!

A couple of days after we had made the guild we were suddenly 10 people (well we borrowed a warrior from the old guild!) and we thought we could as well raid Karazhan, and to our surprise we almost cleared the whole raid! And then that warrior joined us as well, and suddenly within a few weeks of us creating this “joke guild” we were a “real” raiding guild who raided Karazhan and Zul’Aman! And other than a few end of expansion raidbreaks, we’ve raided ever since; which by now I think is starting to make us one of the oldest active raiding guilds on Silvermoon. So that’s something!

As one of the people who signed the charter, and the owner of the ugly dwarf rogue GM alt (who disappointingly isn’t ugly anymore since the new character looks): I’m really happy that we’ve pulled through, with the regular ups and downs that most guilds probably have, and also that we never compromised and took in people we didn’t like, just to fill the roster. We’ve always had nice people, yet I think the group we have now is the best group we ever had! :two_hearts:

 Thank you to the people who helped us sign our charter in 2007, and Zinya who came up with our name!
:orange_heart: Thank you to the initial 10-12 members who made us a raiding guild, especially Vanished who was the warrior that brought us over the tipping point.
:yellow_heart: Thank you to our first ever recruits, the following summer, who all came from the same Swedish guild and who taught us a hard lesson to never mass recruit again.
:green_heart: Thank you to every recruit we ever had who failed trial, for being a number for a short period when we needed one and sometimes for making us rapidly older and wiser.
:blue_heart: Thank you to every old raider who’s left us, for your contributions to our guild - your guild as well at that time - without you we wouldn’t still be around.

Cheers everyone from us! :beers: See you around Silvermoon!

Lazy Peon Tavern 14 years down, 14 more to go!?! :scream:

Ode to ranged dps #11 :sparkles:

We seek one of those men in dresses
who shows to raid in time, and presses
his keys real fast to dot the trash,
or Lava bursts the boss to ash. :funeral_urn:

Who conjures biscuits from thin air
or summons us inside Gruul’s Lair.
Who brings his pets to every fight
and traps the adds to our delight.

Who sidesteps like a matador
when puddles spawn upon the floor,
or uses blink to get across :dash:
if he’s been split up from the boss.

We seek one of those damagedealers
who likes to hang back with the healers
and do their magic from a far,
and then relax inside our bar. :beers:

If you’re the type of guy we seek,
who’s looking for a guild this week,
where people raid but act nice too,
perhaps we are the guild for you?

Seeking some dps and a paladin/disc priest healer!

:cherry_blossom: Ode to holy paladins #1

Our raidteam has one major kink,
we can’t recruit a name in pink!
We’ve searched the land both far and wide,
but holydins all seem to hide! :see_no_evil:
So with this poem we try to fish,
for hidden ones; it is our wish
to find a plated man with wings
who beacons tanks and judges things.
Who heals us all with holy light,
and makes us glimmer while we fight.
A paladin who lay on hands
and all the tactics understands.
A righteous master of his aura,
(or her, we don’t mind a señora)
who always shows to raids on time
and maybe likes a silly rhyme?

We want a holydin, it’s true.
Perhaps that holydin is you?

Still seeking 1 healer and 2 ranged dps.

A mage or warlock would be nice!

Ode to tanks #3 :shield:

We seek a fearless specimen,
who charges and pulls groups of ten.
Who hits the bosses in the face, :japanese_ogre:
and makes them move at steady pace.

Who knows the tactics of the fight
and uses cooldowns with delight,
and signs for our raids on time
with hardly any whinge or whine.

Who shows up with a heavy shield,
to parry attacks on the battlefield.
Or shapeshift to a massive bear,
which blocks our view with its derriere.

If you are looking for a guild, :face_with_monocle:
which doesn’t have the roster filled,
and tank is mainly what you play,
perhaps apply to us today?

Still seeking a tank and a few non hunter ranged dps. Preferably mage and warlock (because we have none of those).

We are still seeking a tank and a few ranged dps (not hunters). Mage and warlock :mage: would be nice!

For a tank we seek a calm and relaxed person with a pleasant personality. Someone who can take a passenger seat during the trial and isn’t pushing “Follow me! I did THIS tactic with my old guild!”, but also isn’t completely passive or never talks. Instead someone who wants to be part of a tankteam where both tanks have input. Perhaps someone a bit older who’s lost his/her unbridled enthusiasm and instead adopted a mature, slightly boring, calm. Preferably someone who’s given up on an eventful real life and thus has some time to play the game outside of raids and like to do stuff with guildies.
