Let hunters buy Rae'shalare (Legendary Bow) for dinars, please Blizzard

Dear Blizz & Players,

Introduction
On Week 3’s reset, players that have been raiding will have access to a new vendor where they can target-buy all raid items. Search: Puzzling Cartel Dinar on WoWhead PTR to see full loot table. (I cannot post the link)

This table includes

  • All weapons, including ones that have extremely powerful passive/on-use effects.
  • Class-specific rings/trinkets/items.
  • ZERO rng, you can straight buy any item.

Hunters will not have access for their legendary bow. I do strongly believe that the legendary bow should be added to the vendor for the following reasons:

  • The increased drop rate is simply not enough.
  • Simply not enough time to farm it.
  • It provides a very powerful utility for M+.
  • Extremely powerful items such as the [Edge of Night] can be purchased with dinars.
  • Hunters are the only class that cannot target their BiS weapon.
  • Timing is an issue. A big one, we are hitting the endpoint of an expansion and it’s rather unfortunate to not have received a drop even after killing her many times on a few hunters.

Run context

  • There are streamers/World Firsts that are doing hunter-only raids, one example is Gingi - he took over 20 hunters (all of them DPS) and not a single bow drop and this is not an outlier.
  • I have ran Sylvanas kills on multiple of my own hunters during SoD release and now, no luck at all.

Compromises

  • Don’t give people the achievement if they bought it, this way vet players that got lucky enough still retain that sense of completion.

Lmao personal loot making it optimal to bring 20 hunters to a raid. Splitruns taken to the next level.

I’m going to strongly assume that he paid every one of those Hunters to help him with this.

This doesn’t imo make a case for just selling legendaries - it makes a case for personal loot obviously being stupid.

As for not getting the bow on the first run: Cry me a river.

Nah. This isnt Legion. Not every hunter needs to have it.

It’s just fairness… Most of classes can purchase their weapons with on hit effects like Jaythis whereas hunters can’t. It’s just a matter of everybody being equal.

If it was about fairness all classes should have a legendary weapon.

A legendary should be legendary, the meaning of the word not just because it has orange name. The weapon of a huge character in the lore should be legendary not just some item some robot dude sells en masse on Oribos.

I’ve gotten legendary stuff on this game just by doing quests and they do write legendary on description but it doesn’t feel legendary at all to me.

My post, if you bothered to read it states that I had been running this on multiple characters, this includes when the content came out on both normal and HC, I don’t understand the rudeness.

There are other class-specific on-use legendaries that can be purchased outright, I don’t think this should be considered an option - in this case, legendary is just a colour.

This. If priests can purchase their passive triggering ring but hunters can’t then it isn’t a fair system.

You’re behaving in an entitled manner. You have no inherent right to hop into a raid and get a legendary bow with a droprate. None of the rest of us even get an extra legendary item at all, and the items we need also don’t have a 100% droprate and cannot be bought on vendors (where’d you get that?), and neither do the rest of yours.

ok then every hunter needs to refarm it. So its fair

Are you talking about Sylvanas’ bow or the one that drops in TBC?

The first time we killed Sylvanas in 9.1 we got 2 bows to drop.

Yesterday, we killed her on normal, and got another bow drop.

This is true, but also there’s really no time to use it. This season is just for funsies and it will be over in like 3-4 months.

Name them…!

As for the time aspect - do you want said bow for its appearance or to upgrade an existing item… BE HONEST!
As far as WoW being a time-sink - or the imminent arrival of Dragonflight, then you’re playing the content wrong if Shadowlands “will cease to be relevant in any way”, once it releases - then you’re playing WoW wrong. That said, @Ishayo nailed it - entitlement.

Either way; this is a player issue, not a WoW one.

EDIT:
You want fair…?? How is it fair that a HUNTER can get both Warglaives of Azzinoth - either side of a Realm reset - & the same players’ Warrior had to run Black Temple for years? A Hunter can’t even EQUIP Warglaives…!

If the bow is the same quality as other epic bows that drop then you only need it for looks, if its much better then other bows or weapons in general that drop in raids then you shouldn’t be able to buy an advantage like that while other classes can’t.

took over 20 hunters? sounds like account sharing

To be fair, the bow is pretty much only legendary by name, the ability it gives you is good but it doesn’t warrant it’s exclusivity compared to the daggers which afaik are a bigger dps gain for rogues than the legendary bow is for hunters (and you can buy the daggers).

It’s not like Firelands staff where only casters get a super strong legendary while other classes only get regular weapons. Most classes got very strong weapons with special effects (eg jaithys, daggers and the bow) that are roughly equal in strength, everyone can buy those weapons except hunters because they chose to give the bow an orange name.

That makes me realize that I was super lucky to get it on my first attempt yesterday.

It should be on the vendor. The rogues can get their super daggers from there too. Just because it has orange text it does not mean it is any better than Edge of Night daggers for the rogues.

They invite people that willingly donate items to an aid to help out - you can find links on their respective discords but I’ve never done it nor would I ever.

This is what people are missing - the daggers are absolutely insane. The bow is just an extra utility for hunters. We should be able to just buy it like everyone else, the orange name jades people’s opinions on its true value.

The world first teams take people into raids with them that want to help donate gear or even have their own entire team run the raid for loot sharing. It’s not account sharing.

Rogues can buy their weapons, priests can buy their rings, every trinket is basically super strong so I think this counter argument is slightly off.

MM kyrian with the bow. You stand ~20 y away, hit the abil, as its flying hit cov abil, sylv bow abil crits with no cap. Its very strong in m+ for an already strong aoe burst class in MM

Of course it’s off when you only quote half of what i said. I said if the weapon is stronger then other weapons you should not be able to buy it due to the advantage it will give you.

Seems fair.
I haven’t seen the ring drop after weekly clears from the start. I’ve only seen 1 Priest in all this time in one group with the LFR version.

I’ve usually been quite unlucky with drops over the years but this time it really feels personal
