Lone Wolf back on the menu… So bring back Living Flame too, lots of people are spending their subscription time to wait with their friends are in Living Flame already. This is not a single player game, this is an MMORPG, one of the M is Massive, you cannot advice to people “go to another server, play alone”.
So there is Demand and Supply situtation. Please work on it dear Blizzard
I got my spot on Living Flame on weekend when server was opened, just wait guys they will unlock them again,to make balance
Waiting is only bearable when u know when the waiting is over.
If they make a statement when something is open again it wouldnt be a problem.
I feel like this is a very bad decision of unlocking one of the two major servers. If they want to create a balance, just open both and people have to live with queues. IF the people dont want the queues, they can swap server. But have the availability to choose yourself.
Queue’s aren’t really the issue at this point neither since there hardly is any queues on peak play times…
Come on, just open Living Flame…
@Vögler: If my suspicion is correct (based on Syphora’s post and information in a few other threads) and Living Flame is “soft locked”, then they can not make a statement as they can not predict, when the condition is removed as it would be determined by player behaviour. And if it is actually “hard locked”, then they expect the condition to continue for at least some time as the limit continues to be exceeded on daily basis.
Additionally, Chaos Bolt has NOT hit “Full” status as of yet. As is, I think we are fairly close to a situation, where the end result could be three relatively similarly sized PvP realms.
@Bamsebjörnen: However, IF it is “soft locked”, then it has high enough concurrent activity levels to keep it that way. And if on the other hand it is “hard locked” then it is simply too full in general (for the time being). A realm might have no or only a very small queue and still be extremely busy. This is particularly true when it comes to Classic realms. Retail realms tend to either get significant queues or be below maximum, because due to lack of layering, they actually have a far lower maximum concurrency cap (a retail realm (whether single or connected group) can manage roughly 6 000 concurrent players, before developing a queue).
As I noted in my previous post, it is possible to force a “Low” realm into “Locked” status, but that is always a “soft lock” and due to how things are handled, probably even less likely on Classic realms. Populations do not (generally) surge upwards that much at that rapid a pace. This also means that just having a small number of characters on a specific realm does not guarantee that it can not lock up (unless the number is actually below 6 000 total). On the other hand, retail Silvermoon probably still has in excess of 800 000 existing characters, but it does not spend months being locked as the number of active ones is massively lower.
@Foolockjr: In those terms, currently, the available maximum supply on Living Flame has been exceeded and there are no more easy, fast solutions to increase it significantly. Lockdown is pretty much the final weapon against realms lagging out and crashing. As per Syphora’s post, individual opportunities may arise during times of lower (but not necessarily low) activity. In that light, I sincerely hope that Blizzard has learned a few hard lessons over the years and what we are seeing are “soft locks”, not “hard locks”, especially when it comes to whole realms, because the deciding factor is the level of activity, not population as such as noted in my reply above. Individual factions are another matter as I outlined in my previous post.
20 years I’ve played this game, first time in my wow life that I pay for a sub and don’t play for 2 days straight - this is embarrassing and pathetic.
I get what you’re saying, but the whole concept of having a queue, is for the servers to NOT overload. By locking the server, they prevent people from playing with friends, friend who weren’t able to log in at 22:00 on release, due to whatever reasons, and create a character. I am missing a lot of friends who want to join me and some others in SoD. But aren’t even able to make a character on the server. My mates play daytime for example, whereas the servers are NOT that heavy stressed due to most people working daytime. This is now impossible due to the lock.
In my opinion blizzard should just unlock it, let there be queues. It’s fine for most people as the “week 1 hype” has died out and there hardly are any queues anymore due to this.
And IF there are people that dislike the queue’s, offer them a free migration to a less populated server then.
It’s to drastic to lock a server, regardless of it being a “soft lock”, or a “hard lock”.
Edit 1: Typos.
If I want to play on a realm without anyone I know I would rather play a single-player game. So the options are either unlock Living Flame or just straight up quit and not have to deal with these idiotic systems. Quite simple.
To clarify why it’s idiotic: there are thousands of bots who will not get banned and are allowed to fill up a realm until it gets locked. There is no justification for not handling the botting situation better and just locking a realm.
I want to choose the game server that I like and where my friends play, and not the one that is imposed on me for one reason or another… If I had known that this would be the case, I would not have bought a subscription as it is a waste of money… If blizzard went for it then let them return the money to everyone who thinks the same way as me, since I cannot use the purchased product!! A fact!
open living flame realm, i want play with my guild
agreed! all my friends play at lf realm
Open Living Flame.
On the bright side, considering how numerous the people who want to create a character on Living Flame are, the starting area will be like a second launch day lol.
Open Living Flame. Gone for work on launch and now can’t play with all the homies. Sad day. Very sad day. Or you can just let me slide in, that’ll work also.
#openlivingflame
#openlivingflame
What a stupid launch strategy, create two pvp servers so everyones friend/buddies at least in one of them, then lock both servers the next day and expect people to play on a seperate realm.
Here is a better one. Launch more servers so guilds end up in different servers and not everyone wants to go in to the same server. Then merge low pop servers according to their alliance horde balance.
dear blizzard, my guild is playing on living flame and i can’t join them because the realm is closed. and I am not the only one in this position, as the forum shows. so please #openLivingFlame
I would try and do this on twitter as it appears Blizzard are “communicating” with the community in there.
i tried, you just get a bot response
change my mind
just listen to what ex-overwatch developer thinks about balance

I’m speechless…This doesn’t make sense. We start 2 PVP realms and after a few today we lock it and start other servers. People will always migrate for their own community. Even weeks before the launch, people were already arranged via Discord to be on a server together and it didn’t matter that they didn’t know the name of the realm. I don’t know who in a management position decided this, but they probably shouldn’t be in management anymore. For next time, start more realms and if they don’t fill up, merge the realms. If this is an expensive solution for a company like Blizzard, the board of directors is pretty greedy…
