Hey there.
So, here’s the thing. There’s plenty of guilds, but I’ve yet to find one that’s made so that like-minded people can have casual fun in this game while also occasionally progressing in it. I’ve heard there are some out there, so I figured I’d give it a shot. Maybe someone knows of one of them and can point me the right way.
Now I get along with pretty much anyone, but I would love to be in environment where people tend to be sort of… roughly my age at least. Not that I’ve got anything against teens and such, but still, this is a topic of high hopes, so… here’s to hoping?
It’d be great if it wasn’t a guild that keeps pushing for higher numbers over all else; More members, more DPS, higher M+ scores, and on and on it goes.
Now don’t get me wrong, I want to raid. I’ve got a decent ilvl right now, quite reasonable for the first week of the expansion at 371 and growing. I do mythics. I want to raid on a set schedule. But I’d love to do it with a group of people that do it for the sake of having fun and enjoying the raiding experience. It doesn’t have to be pushing the bleeding edge of progression. In fact, I don’t very much enjoy pushing progression for the sake of it.
I’d love to find a group of like-minded people that go in with the intent of having fun with the new content, not so much seeing who can pump the hardest, as the cool kids say nowadays. So what if X or Y could be better, as long as at least some progress was made and fun was had, that’s all that matters. There’s always next time. As long as it happens.
Now I’m not saying that I don’t stick to agreed upon raid schedules or anything of the sort. In fact, quite the opposite. I read up on tactics. I prep as much as the time allows. It’s a group effort after all. I don’t want to drag down the rest of my team. But I’m at a point in my life where other things also happen, so I’d love to find a group of people that gets that.
I should mention that a social aspect here is very important, but within limits. I love a good discord channel. I love friendly banter. I love friendly jokes and jabs, hearing random small chatter in the raiding channel and so forth. What I don’t love is people with too much energy screaming on coms, be it due to overexcitement or unresolved anger issues. I don’t do drama.
I could go on but I think you get what I’m after. A small group of like-minded people that’d perhaps let me enjoy the game with them instead of always stressing out about god knows what, perpetually so, in a game that’s supposed to be what I do for fun. In my free time.
If any of you know of such a community, talk to me. I’d love to have a chat with you about it and see if it’s a good fit. I’m a loyal breed, and I’m hoping to maybe find a place to stick by. I get that some people try to start their own thing, but I’ll say it right now, I’m not likely to join a 2-person guild that hopes of sometime doing some content and then one of them is likely to quit after a week. I’d be migrating my main and only char for this expansion from a guild that I’m in now and is -fine-. I really don’t intend to rush into something that ends up being just more of the same.
Oh, and I play on Alliance. I guess technically It’d be possible to switch over to Horde, but it’d really have to be just about a perfect fit! It’s possible though.
