M1 Mac BattleNet and Agent Broken - Stopping WoW installation

AAAAANNNNNDDD now it’s back to not working. Managed 1 battleground

Now finding I can get in just by keep trying until it connects

this is strange. I tried just about 28 times
Did everything I found online, and blizzard ticket told me to keep trying.
Didnt change a thing, one day update started itself now its been working (knock on wood) fine for almost 2 weeks now.

Until someone from the Blizzard Dev Team takes a closer look on whats going on, no one or nothing will fix this issue. Stop looking around.

Been trying since 06/23 - still no fix for this issue for almost half a year?
@Devs, could you please look into that?

I’m also experiencing this issue… Tried all the steps suggested by other users; set Battle.net app to Beta version, trying to download on windows then moving the folder to my mac, running as administrator, giving battle net app and agent full disk access. Nothing works… So shameful by blizzard to have this many people unable to play a game they’re actively selling… At least put us out of our misery and list Mac as an unsupported platform for WoW… :frowning:

Guys, this is not serious. We paid money for the subscription, but we can’t download the game. I demand some kind of payment for moral damages.

I had similar install issues. Contacted customer support and they recommended:

  1. Reinstall the Battle.net App: https://battle.net/support/en/article/30304

  2. Reset Firewall: https://battle.net/support/article/7842
Note: If you have your own anti-virus or firewall software installed, ensure it’s fully set up to exclude the Battle.net Desktop app and all our games.

  3. Shut down the PC. Power Cycle the home network’s modem and router to refresh the connection to all devices on the network and to the Internet Service Provider.

Surprisingly it worked, but the install was stuck on the “initialisation” step for a very long time.

just spent 1h on this, on a M1 as well. switching to beta agent for battle.net at least started the installation processes. it is not stuck now anymore for me. but a ridicules problem for such a game tbh.

I installed wow from my friend. But now whenever I update my addons it happens again.

This somehow fixed it for me, altough my Firewall wasn’t even active to begin with?? Can’t be sure what actually fixed it in the end since I’ve been continually trying different solutions suggested in this thread.

Im still stuck after three weeks, the game is installed but doesn’t succeed in being launched. I’ve tried everything in this thread…

Battletnet Update Agent is showing some classic bugs on PC again to. It can suddenly start requesting massive resources, which completely starts to overload your harddrive. You can literally hear it tearing the harddrive. Blizzard fix this returning bug, not okay.

Recommend shutting down the Update Agent process as soon as you notice this.

I am having the same problem, how Blizzard has not been able to fix it yet?
Edit: Thanks Lukeperry his suggestion helped in fixing the issue

I struggled a lot with this issue too on my M1 Pro. The only thing that worked was to start the download connected to my mobile hotspot, and then switching pack to my regular wifi after downloading a couple of percentages.

I have the same issue atm. No workarounds worked so far.

Allowing Full Disk Access to Agent.app and Battle.net app didn’t help me. But what helped me and what I’ve seen suggested very rarely on various threads about this problem is allowing Agent.app and Battle.net in the macOS firewall.

Go to System Settings - Network - Firewall - Options…

There add all Agent.app versions you can find on your disk under /Users/Shared/Battle.net/Agent.

For me it was 4 apps: Agent.8320/Agent.app, Agent.8445/Agent.app, beta/Agent.app, and Agent.app that’s right under /Users/Shared/Battle.net/Agent.

Also add Battle.net.app from /Applications.

For all of these added items make sure that “Allow incoming connections” is set.

After I did this WoW downloaded without an issue.

Hi, are you still able to share download links as I’ve been having a nightmare trying to re-download wow after having to reset my Mac to factory settings - mine isn’t an M1 it’s an intel one from a few years ago so I don’t know if that will effect it.

For me what worked was granting full disk access to the Relauncher instances and Battle.net itself. You will have to add Battle.net to the list of items that have access yourself.

What is going on how is this issue still not fixed? Blizzard is this some joke?

Why would they care? Do they get your money? Yes?
