Making Promotional Mounts Widely Available

We’ve recently monitored a situation where a limited promotional mount ended up being much less available than players expected. However, we have a good plan for future access to the mount.

Since the introduction of the Trading Post, we’ve considered each new promotional mount to be destined to eventually become available to players via the Trading Post. This allows us to first offer a new mount to a specific community, such as a single country, as a promotional item that has limited availability, and then later remove its ‘limited’ status altogether.

It is our plan with each new limited promotional mount to bring the mount to all players at a later date in the Trading Post, and if we deviate from that plan, we’ll let you know.

So probably not retroactive for older ones then, or at least the wording lets that be the case. Shame. I imagine this won’t happen to the felcycle then. Oh well.

So, what’s the point of a limited promotional mount, to just have it faster?

”promotional mount that might become almost free in the traiding post in 3 months”

But yes, you need to fix the promotional mount so everyone could get it somehow at the moment.

The pringles mount was hands down the dumbest thing they’ve done though. In how it was promoted (or the lack thereof), executed and the amount of mounts involved being an utter joke (3000).

As for limited well. They’ve done the same to some tgc mounts.

Given the limited quantity of Trader’s Tenders a player can get, this will do absolutely nothing, as the tenders you save will then become the item with value from these promotions. Get the promotion or have to spend 7-800 tenders instead.

Depends how much you spend. I’m sitting on like 4.5k atm.

Yea that is a you problem. I am sitting with 30k tenders.

Just another way to keep the status of limited availability mounts and dip into the sales of packs for more tender? Will be fun to see when the adjustments come in regarding the prices/earnings of tender. Just stop doing limited promotions like this instead then.

great to hear, honestly

i’ve never been a huge fan of limited promotions that are only available in certain countries and regions, epsecially if there’s no reliable or inexpensive way to acquire what is on offer

so adding them to the trading post after a period of exclusivity is an excellent compromise

Could just stop with promotional mounts all together and there wouldn’t be an issue to begin with.

The goat raccoon coming in clutch

Does this also counts for current china only promotional items like the recent blue and golden windsteeds or the mecha panthers? Region locked stuff is bad for the game, but having it available via the trading post down the line is atleast something I guess …

Because they made a mess of this one, they should put it on the TP for free, then put all future ones out as above

Endorsing scalpers?

Side note; hope some morons spent €400-800+ just to hear Blizz will be making them available off the TP.

Thanks for the heads-up! Not going to waste any dime again on promotions.

You could also just do none of this stuff and just recognise the fact that the average WoW player already spent AT LEAST €100 WITH YOU THIS YEAR ALONE and let us catch a break?

No?

Of course not.

Well good because the promotional stuff is just utter rubbish imo. I understand it is likely some financial department thing but I am rather against it; especially when they just want to harvest your data. Like Pringles wanting your phone number and address how about no

As for the London thing, I am sure someone thought it sounded fun but don’t think people should be travelling around London with the terror warning if they don’t have to!

I read this as meaning that « the mount » - whichever mount was the object of controversy (something to do with London if I understand correctly) will be available.

So it’s not only for future promotions.

Some of these events don’t require purchases, but others do like those computer gaming products, or that recent Arthas figurine. The main thing is that whatever cosmetic item is offered is a bonus to you buying the product. You don’t have to purchase anything; it’s just optional.
