Since the profession system got a massive revamp, I was thinking about making a use of my alts and I need some help or suggestions to pair professions.
I’ve got on my main (Monk) Leatherworking+Skinning and Mining+Herbalism on Evoker and I’ll stay with that. But there is 7 more professions to pair with, (blacksmithing, alchemy, engineering, tailoring, enchanting, inscription and jewelcrafting).
I have 6 more alts I am willing to play. (rogue, warrior, demon hunter, warlock, shaman and druid)
Any suggestions on which professions can I pair together and to what character?
Obviously this is up to you, and what I’m sharing here is how I personally spread the professions across my characters, so take it with a pinch of salt, especially since we need to see how professions balance out in this expansion.
In general, I try to have 1 gathering profession on each of my characters, and for the most part I’m following the logic of pairing these up with the crafting profession they support.
I have:
Herbalism + Alchemy
Herbalism + Inscription
Herbalism + Tailoring
Mining + Blacksmithing
Mining + Engineering
Mining + Jewelcrafting
Skinning + Leatherworking
Skinning + Enchanting (although I switch that gathering profession out, depending on how valuable the other two are in any given expansion)
You have 2 crafting professions that don’t require a paired gathering one (tailoring + enchanting), so you could either pair those two up, or add in gathering professions that support your other or your main.
Again, it’s mostly down to personal preference, so don’t feel too worried about mismatching
