Mechagnomes made me lose the last little hope i had

I was sad about it too, it seemed odd. Esp. As their leader had hated being under the boots of warlike Legion. Only to align with the warlike Horde. To me it would have made me sense to align with the more peaceful faction (Alliance.)

Im sure vulpera were planned to be a playable race long before we’ve seen them, but that’s besides the point.

The disparity between these 2 races mirror the disparity between all other allied races, as I said, they are by far not the worst quality-wise, they get a new idle and a whole lot new animations, unlike the dreanei for example.
But they do cover the gnome variant slot which currently could be covered by either full on mechagnomes or the ones we got now.

I did lurk the past 3 days (1 night even 4 horus to read the destruction of a certain gnome hunter in the PvP thread) and with Reddit taking in aswell:

Supporters of mechagnomes:

-90% Horde main players
-Barely any Alliance.

The Alliance is describing this as the 4th (like me who wants VE gone because they make 0 lore sense) easted slot for allied races. Where Horde has only Nightborne who needs a touch up only had Highmountain Tauren so far which should have been just a cosmetic option. Mean Vulepra is loved by both… This was such a perfect neutral race to be given as an Allied race to Pandaren. But alas same was with Nightborne, many supported a complete magical society yet many also still related to their NE heritage and/or had living family there. What do you say? Perfect neutral race? Nah if both factions want it goes Horde, quick let a writer write the most stupidest excuse ever! “Tyrande said she didn’t trust me enough yet for self-rule without watch! I’M OFFENDED! Despite history showing this was the 2nd time we allied with the Legion…” Yeah what a good reason to go full Horde… This happens daily to me! Even from family or friends when we disagree! Guess I have to go on war with many people then…

What should have been:

  • Highmountain tauren > cosmectic, replace this race with Taunka
  • Nightborne Fix their faces etc.
  • Lightforged Draenei > cosmetic, replace with krokuul and normal broken skins
  • Void Elf > High Elf and void only shows in combat, you know just like Allerlia. Alliance High Elves not the rejects who betrayed the humans lore wise? 3 times? The High elves that stuck with the Alliance or became neutral
  • Dark Iron > Like Maghar compelte the set, Widlhammer skin cosmetic for reguluar dwarves
  • Kul Tiras, we just call them fat… Seriously should have been 100% cosmetic and new classes for reguluar humans. Like a slider where you can decide how musceled or ‘big boned’ you want to be
  • Mechagnomes > cosmetic options and rework orignal gnome racials, liek humans etc. also need.

Btw funny people call Mechagnome racial OP, my Dranei racial heals 20-40% (crits, 100%) in PvE and I can target it on somebody else… Wanna play Mechagnome for the fixed 20% heal on a 2.5m CD? Play Draenei today…

As if alliance supports the regular gnomes.

I agree with that, I wish the vulpera gone neutral, but blizzard decided otherwise.

Even the devs of old said the only reason gnomes became playable was because they never finished High Elves on time and needed said 4th race, they were intented to be the Dwarven sidekicks. The Gnome race is only used for comedy situations almost exclusively. Hence why I could stomach a goblin alt but everythign I see a gnome I just can’t take them seriously.

Look at all the narrow minded people that think their opinion is law :man_facepalming:

I’m glad we got a second gnome variant then

The cycle of life can be cruel.

That took you a while… “Can I interest you in a new arm? Its a good day for an upgrade”

“Resist the forces of subjugation in Uniformity!”

This! A thousand times this! I wish I could like this more than once. You’ve pretty much hit the nail on it tbh.

Gnomes are actually the least played Alliance race. Probably the least played core race overall if you count both factions. And are pretty much universally seen as a joke of a race.

I see a very selfish mindset when it comes to Allied Races. When one gets introduced that someone doesn’t like they instantly scream how it’s “a waste” and that they’re never going to play it. Well, good for you. That doesn’t mean others don’t like them.

I too don’t like Mechagnomes and will never play one, but I’m happy for the crowd of people that do want to play one. I stick to the ARs that I do fancy.

Ehh, I reckon Highmountain are more distinctive than Taunka personally, and actually have a lot more backstory, mainly built up in their zone in Legion.

Agreed, they aren’t the same as the actual NPC race, which really, they should be.

Alleria is a bad example, she is a Mary-Sue put in place to complete the Aragorn/Arwen LoTR trope, They should have just given the Alliance High Elves, I think most people would have been happier with that. Also they did not betray the Humans 3 times lore wise, Quel’thalas seceded from the Alliance, they then rejoined it. If you secede from something, it is an agreed process, not a betrayal. They’ve swapped -faction- three times, but they only -betrayed- the body politic that is Quel’thalas, so really, they betrayed the Horde Once, the Alliance Never.

Agreed, Far more people wanted Broken/Krokuul, than wanted Space Marine Draenei.

Again, agreed. I wanted a Dark Iron, because I had a very specific idea for such a character which I will soon start roleplaying on, but I firmly agree it could have been a cosmetic issue, rather than a new race, and also that Wildhammer should have been a cosmetic option introduced.

Kul Tirans do not make sense. They just do not, they are biologically different enough so as not to be classed as ‘Human’ anymore, in much the same way that Orcs don’t. They do not even look like the same species as their own ruler these days! (Oh Hi Sylvanas/Nathanos/Calia!)

They get new models that are not a replica of anything in game, to be honest, they’re legit. They are supposed to be a Gnomish Allied Race, and they fit the bill, being the half way stage between what Gnomes -were- and what they -are-.

Gnomes are Hecka Cool. Alliance fans only have themselves to blame for this, if they had some faction pride they would realise that being able to play Robocop, The Terminator, or Roy fricken’ Batty is about as cool as you can get, but nooo, they want bigger, stronger, He-Man type rubbish.

There is zero reason for the Vulpera to go neutral. Even when Blizzard removed the ‘Purge Squad’ idea because some people on Team Blue screamed about how the Alliance wasn’t evil and wouldn’t do that, they still have zero reason to join the Alliance.

They have a longstanding history of non-hostility with the Zandalari (Who have subsequently joined the Horde)
They pretty much met new people to their lands and started trading with them. Then -Other- new people who they had never met turned up, and because they were pretty neutrally trading with the other set of new people, decided that rather than opening diplomatic channels it would be better to just kill them and set their caravans on fire.

I mean that is literally the Vulperan experience with the Alliance. They Kill you, and Burn your house/means of income to the ground.

Why would they be neutral again?

That’s a -you- problem, and not a problem with Gnomes, who have the bleakest backstory in Wow. Lordaeron and the fall of Quel’thalas were -theme park rides- in comparison. Be honest. Its because they’re small. If you looked at the actual background they are the grittiest, toughest survivors in Azeroth.

Only by people who don’t care about Lore, and given this is an mmoRPG then frankly if you don’t care about Lore, your opinion actually -is- secondary to those that do.

Read the Lore, don’t just go “Gnomes are small, therefore rubbish!”

i think its not about not playing it but more about people expecting a decent allied race

Yeah but it was like 2 people on the other races, like the playerbase for mechagnomes was the size of the complaints, now it seems to be much higher which is understandable

I think you are gonna be the one who gets ganked …

You don’t exactly let a gnome go unharmed if you’re horde :joy:

Stealth my friend

When 90% play demonhunter i dont think thats gonna help you mate! :joy:

If you are quitting, can we set up a transaction where you transfer over your ingame gold and other valuable (vanity) items?

Please respond back with a proposal and we can work out how we can proceed with this transaction.

Yup, and that’s all that Blizzard does. No fun allowed, just more of the same. Most allied races are boring copy / pastes. And they expect you to unlock it with rep lmao.
