Midnight Season 1 Ending and Season 2 Information

With the Curse of Ula’tek content update on the horizon, we’ve prepared an outline of details players may want to know about the end of Season 1 and the beginning of Season 2.

Here’s a rundown of the entire content update.

As in previous seasons, Midnight Season 1 competitive PvP will end at 22:00 CEST the night before patch maintenance begins in each region. Season 1 Mythic+ dungeons will remain available, and achievements such as Cutting Edge and Ahead of the Curve can be obtained, until maintenance begins. When realms go into maintenance the week of August 12, Mythic+ and PvP percentile cutoffs will be calculated. When the game comes back online with the Curse of Ula’tek update, Midnight Season 2 will be underway in a pre-season state, with certain content and rewards not yet available.

World Content and Delves

During the pre-season week, Delve difficulties 1-11 will be available, along with the “?” Nemesis difficulty. Bountiful Delves do not appear during the pre-season, and the maximum tier of rewards available from Delves will be Adventurer 3/6 gear and Veteran Crests.

New outdoor features such as Curse Surges and Vaults of Atal’Utek are available during the pre-season. Pinnacle Caches drop Season 2 Veteran gear and appear during the pre-season week. Hard Prey is available during the pre-season and drops Season 2 Veteran gear.

With maintenance the week of August 19, Bountiful Delves will appear, Coffer Keys will begin dropping, and the “??” Nemesis difficulty appears. Players who defeat “??” Nemesis difficulty during this first week of the season will earn the Fabled Let Me Solo Him: Azta’rec achievement. Nightmare Prey also becomes available at this time, awarding Season 2 Champion gear.

Dungeons

During the pre-season week, the new Season 2 dungeon pool will be active and available on Heroic and Mythic 0 difficulty, including the new Altar of Fangs dungeon. Mythic 0 dungeons will reward Champion 1/6 gear on a weekly lockout for that week only.

With maintenance the week of August 19, players will begin to earn Mythic Keystones and Mythic+ dungeon difficulties become available. Mythic 0 dungeons will return to a daily lockout.

Raids and Lairs

During the pre-season week, the World difficulty of the Tidebound Grotto lair will be available, dropping Season 2 Veteran gear.

Check out our preview of Lairs here.

These items are bind-on-pickup, like gear earned in raids. Lairs have a weekly lockout, and a Voidcore (when available) can only be used once per week on a lair.

With maintenance the week of August 19, the Venomous Abyss Raid opens on Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulties, along with Raid Finder Wing 1. Normal, Heroic, and Flexible Mythic difficulties of the Tidebound Grotto Lair will also become available.

PvP

The new Training Grounds: Arenas are available with the start of pre-season, along with unrated PvP activities in Battlegrounds and the outdoor world.

When Season 2 begins the week of August 19, all rated PvP will get underway, with players earning ranking and credit towards new PvP gear, titles, achievements, toys, and the Venemous Gladiator’s Goredrake and Vicious Lightbloom Boar mounts.

Other Rewards

During the pre-season week, the Great Vault will offer rewards based on your activities during the final week of Season 1. Season 2 Great Vault credit starts accruing during the pre-season week, with the rewards from those efforts available to claim on August 19.

Crafting Sparks will also begin dropping during the pre-season.

Voidcore bonus rolls will not be available in the first Great Vault of Season 2. They will become available during the second week of Season 2 (August 26) and can be selected by anyone who has unlocked at least 3 panes.

For the first Great Vault of Season 2, the maximum gear level attainable from the World row will be Champion 3/6. Subsequent Vaults can reward gear from the World row at a maximum quality of Hero 1/6.

Thanks for reading. We’ll see you in The Coiled Isle!

Bro, isn’t there a finall cuttoff similar to tww season 3 when you announce it a reset or two before the season ended that all players that are higher than 3927(or something) are eligible to.get 0,1%

I’m asking for the 1% reward

So may as well unsub for a month or so until 12.1 kicks off properly.

You mean the same cut-off where you could still get eligible post-cut off?
That cut-off?

Interesting change. Probably for the best but does take a lot of the fun out of it.

Suspected this would happen, and was one of the reasons for the change in how the reroll token was earned. Makes sense given how powerful they are.

idk if you are trolling or not but i’m reffering to this post https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/m-unbound-hero-title-final-update-january-20/2227583, as you can see the post is made on january 14th and the season lasted until the 20th so a whole reset where you could still get some rating without the ever moving cut off

and since i’m at it, hopefully i’ll never have to “push “ keys for mounts ever, such a exhausting way to get a mount , damn

and no it’s not about skill, it’s about the adhd type of repetitive stuff that you need to pull over and over and over again to maintain a certain rio because today you are eligible, tomorow you may not because somebody in their basement thinks it’s cool to push to keystone 100

The post went up early but was edited every few hours with the new number, which happened as the rating increased throughout the final week. The cutoff has never stopped arbitrarily prior to the end of the season.

Should probably pay for a few more runs, just to be safe.

Thanks for the info, answered the questions I had.

..apologies if this is answered somewhere else - currency ..what stays, what goes

Ok, the lot in the Season 1 tab is a given , however what about all the ones in the main section, does anyone know if they roll in to Season 2 or some of them end ?
.. would be good to know to spend or keep

Anything that affects gea rupgrades usually go poof gone, have to refarm

I wish I’d read this a fortnight ago.

I have just done 3 tabs in my world tier to get the bonus roll. Nah.

First tab, two lvl 8 delves in case a tier hero piece pops. Nah.

Currently my Vault says 298 reward for slot 1 (two 8’s) and 302 for slot 2 (two 7’s). So they can’t even ruin the world tier and do it right.

And there I was thinking they had changed their philosophy of making everyone do Mythics and Raids. I bet their rewards aren’t nerfed.

Well they aren’t doable at all yet so… Yes?

Max vault anyone can get this week is champion. That’s just how pre seasons work.

In fact, delves have access to 1 hero piece this week from maps. The only hero piece anyone can get this week.

I must apologise for my previous rant. or at least the last bit.

You are right. No raid tier in the vault, and dungeon tier will only be champ too.

I think I’m just annoyed at myself for not knowing this, and doing WAY too much on 3 alts, just to find out it wasn’t necessary.

May be good time to unpin the season 1 schedule since its confusing :+1:

All understandable.

Personally I did 8 t8s on my main plus a sweep of m0s since getting tier early matters a lot regardless of ilvl as a raider.

My alts I did 8 t1s so they can take a socket day 1 and get a little head start. If my main doesn’t get a tier piece I’ll also take a socket.
