Honestly the Patch should drop on the 9th so we can do the island stuff etc, but the actual raid should be opened after the holiday season.
I totally agree, my guild is taking a season break from raiding after December 18th, to enjoy the festivites and spend time with families going to miss a few weeks of raiding 
The raid is full of bugs. It is not ready.

I keep hearing that. Are we playing different games? All VP gear in MoP is behind rep walls. It’ll take people weeks to get revered with new factions.
You get normal raid gear at neutral and friendly already.
Not to mention that upgrades will also be with VP in the beginning.
Where did you get that information? VP gear is usually at honored and revered. And gear upgrades cost JP so far.
Shado Pan Offensive (the raid faction) gives you gear from neutral onwards.
On PTR upgrades for ToT items cost 250vp each, not JP. Zirene also confirmed it himself on the rogue discord, I asked him.
Item upgrades for Tier 14 items should continue to use JP.
Tier 15 items can’t be “upgraded” but can proc Thunderforged for +8 ilvl when they drop from ToT, this can now in classic be also done with VP to cut down the RNG.
Were checking upon ptr for Celestial items for next phase, non-tier items can be upgraded but tier items are locked to 522/535 to their normal/heroic item levels
