MM hunter and pet

What if trick shots affect our pet too like every time we gain trickshots pet gains cleave for 5 sec.
Also mybe mastery give it small boost to damage? It would still do about 10% of our damage but we wouldn;t feel bad for pulling it out for bloodlust in aoe situations and pet loosing it’s value as we gain more mastery.

The nice think its if blizz delete lone wolf from the game … Its stupid to need to call pet BL and after dismis pet …

I think Lone Wolf is ok, I mean having the option to not have a pet is a nice thing as many people like Hunter but don’t like to have to deal with a pet, or the fantasy they wanna play is simply a bowman/sniper/whatever that doesn’t have a pet. They should however give it some BL ability instead and that would be ok I guess. That way you wouldn’t need the call pet → BL → dismiss shenanigan.

I love Lone Wolf. A big turn-off for me has always been the reliance on a pet, but I really like the archer/gunslinger archetype.

Heck, I think survival would also be way more fun with a Lone Wolf option, though it’d require some shuffling and redesign of certain abilities.

Maybe. I think one of the things that makes SV unique is that it is the only melee spec that has a pet. Playing with it kinda feels like you are Kraven the Hunter with is pet lion.
I personally like SV because it has stuff from 3 classes I like, stealth from Rogue, 2H from Warrior (plus wears mail so it’s in between Rogue and Warrior in regards to tankyness), has a pet from Hunter, plus some tricks from Hunter but that also feel like they could be from Rogue. Doing all that while also having your buddy fighting by your side makes for the perfect combination for me.

Now, would I be against the option to not use a pet in SV? No, as long as both options were equally viable. I just think that playing SV without the pet would make it feel more like a Warrior maybe, taking away what makes it unique.

Nonetheless if that happend, I would most likely just wear a mog made with the old mail gear that looked like Plate and make myself look like a Warrior when not having the pet by my side.

To me personally, moreso than the pet, I find the “skirmisher” aspect of SV to be quite unique. It’s a melee class whose only true melee ability is raptor strike/mongoose bite, and even that can be made into a ranged ability with respectable uptime.
So I don’t think it’d have an identity crisis without the pet so to speak, it’s a spec that can weave semi-seamlessly between mid-range combat and close and personal, and I find that very appealing!

True, true. You are right. It would still be unique, I kinda meant that having the pet while the other melees don’t have is what stands out mostly.

Also, when I send my pet before me, or to a different enemy than the one I am attacking, etc, I kinda feel like the Orc in this clip at 00:55:

I immediately knew what you meant even before clicking, that’s top tier hunter depiction right there.
It really shows how big of a fan ole Dunkie is of the franchise how he pays this kind of attention to small details like that.

I like MM not giving incentive to use pets outside BL. It’s good to have both options and I don’t think mm should start getting pet additions.

2/3 use pets 100% to core of the specc. I don’t think we need the 3rd to start moving in the same direction.
