MoP Classic - Old MacDonald pet battle completed but achievement credit missing

I have encountered a bug with the Alliance pet battle quest chain in MoP Classic.

I completed the entire Alliance pet battle quest chain, including the final quest, but the achievement Taming Eastern Kingdoms is permanently missing credit for Old MacDonald. Old MacDonald is the only remaining criterion preventing completion of the achievement and all achievements that depend on it.

Current character state:

  • Taming Eastern Kingdoms: Only Old MacDonald is missing.

  • The Old MacDonald quest is marked as completed:

    /run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(31724))

    Output:

    true

  • Internal quest flags:

    /run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(31973))

    Output:

    true

    /run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(31903))

    Output:

    false

  • Old MacDonald no longer offers a pet battle, so there is no way to repeat the encounter and trigger the missing achievement criterion.

This appears to leave the character in an inconsistent state where the quest chain is complete, but one of the internal completion flags was never set, preventing the achievement from updating.

Could you please investigate whether the missing internal completion flag (31903) or the achievement criterion for Old MacDonald can be corrected for affected characters?

I’m afraid Blizzard support staff do not read these forums. If you want to contact a GM for help, you will have to make a Support Ticket.

You have traced your situation very well. I wish that all people asking for help would do the same.

These Taming EK and Taming Kalimdor chains have always been glitchy. Did you by any chance also start a Horde character on Taming Kalimdor? Because there have always been problems with that; if your Horde character did Dagra the Fierce before your Alliance characetr did Old MacDonald, it might have got the flag for the second Tamer instead … or something like that. I don’t pretend to understand the workings.

I don’t have a horde character. However - I can actually give it a shot and see if it fixes the missing credit. Unfortunately Blizzard seem to have closed all options to open an actual support ticket as everything leads to either KB articles or a bug report with no response.

We have received several reports of this issue and are investigating it. Customer Support does not have a workaround or resolution that can be provided.
