My account.. has been deleted?

Hey.

My WoW1 license (I own multiple Shadowlands in my account) in my Battle.Net account has been banned 5 months ago (ban length was 6 months). The reason I got banned because I exchanged gold from server to server and they thought I was buying gold. Today, I discovered that my account has completely been disappeared as it was visible before and I could see how many days left until ban is over. I contacted live chat and they told me the account is permenantly closed due to account sharing (?). I’ve never let another person use my account. I never let another people logged into my account or play it in any way. This is completely false and I can do everything to prove it.

Only reason I could think of is that I might be using VPN time to time, but everybody does that and I can’t recall a time I excessively used a VPN to play any game, not just WoW. I never got any boosts or anything like that other than ingame Heroic boosts which you completely control your character on your own. There is no possibly scenario that someone used my account since I use Authenticator. I changed countries in past two years but I don’t think that’d be the reason. I’d like you to reconsider this since I invested so much time into my account. I am ready to provide any necessary information if you need it. I am not sure how I’ve been banned due to this completely unrelated and false reason.

I don’t understand why would you delete my account completely after five months of ban? Customer Support did not help at all.

Because customer support don’t deal with bans. You need to contact the specialist appeals team, which you will have received instructions on doing so in the email you were sent when you got banned originally.

I understand this but my situation was completely unusual since they permanently erased my account out of existence during a fifth month of an already existing ban. Also, support told me they will NEVER reconsider this under any circumstances which was also very weird.

Except using a VPN is against the rules and a bannable offense. Are you logging into the correct battle.net account?

Update:

I contacted the support again and they added back the account. So, it’s possible that Blizzard might randomly delete your account.

Actually while Blizzard reserves the right to fully ban your account for any reason or none at all and own the rights to it, this is the first time I’ve witnessed them removing a game license entirely and then also add it back to your battle.net account in question.

I’ve not heard them of using this as a penalty option either. I believe it’s done in err, mainly as the others have said: Using a VPN increases the risk drastically that it looks like account sharing which means it carries a permanent account closure.

^This. I have never in all my time seen a wow account deleted over a penalty. They can permaban it, but they dont delete it. I suspect it was simply a glitch at an convenient time to make it seem that way.
