I am absolutely lost. I haven’t touched the game in basically months since all the add-ons were blocked. Super bummed about that!
I primarily play resto druid, and do m+. I had a wonderful set up. I now use Elvui, Clique, and DBM. Reeeally missing my HoT’s display though and can’t find anything like it.
My HoT’s used to be simple colours, placed in the corners or middle of the regular blizzard (Elvui) frames. So for instance rejuve would be in one corner and regrowth in another. Wild growth would be in another etc.
I’ve been looking on curseforge and tested out many add ons, half of them working, the other half not. With grid2 I can only get 3 HoT’s to appear, and they cycle through, so the newest appears - hate it. I guess I could do some stuff with settings but idk.
Would REALLY like to have my simple UI back, with the HoTs being in the corners, and all spells being displayed, not only 3! I’m guessing I maybe did stuff with custom code on WeakAuras or sth, idk, used my setup for yeeeears lol.
Maybe you guys could help me? I would be forever grateful!
With the recent addon restrictions, any kind of buff/debuff filtering or tracking has become impossible. There have been a LOT of complaints about it, particularly from the more HoT focused healer specs.
I write my own addons and am familiar with what can and can’t be done currently. The only “fix” is some awful Frankenstein-esque icon replacement that butchers other parts of the UI where those icons appear (like talents, the spellbook, the cooldown manager and the action bars). There’s nothing to do now except to wait for Blizzard to add some changes to the restrictions. Knowing Blizzard, that might take a while.
I guess you need to get used to healing blindly for the time being.
Oh my. Firstly, thank you so much for your swift response - appreciate it!
Hmm, okay. I mean I totally get why they are doing this. And I do agree that this is the right way to go! But in saying that: Blizzard should have the capacity to implement these changes in a better way. The UX team is working hard I am sure, and are working within the technological constraints, but a softer transition may have been nice
Also, I believe that the game has now become reaaaally simple? Again, I get why and I totally agree that this may be good for the future! BUT having to keep 500 HoT’s up and keep a million things in view at the same time was MY JAM! I loved the complexity!! I feel like they are somewhat making it easier to get back into the game and for new players to discover the game (which as said, I agree with), but on the other hand taking away an aspect to the game I, and I am sure other longtime players, thoroughly enjoyed! I will trust in the UX team to have made the right decisions though and only judge once the time comes. Just thought I’d leave this here in hopes of maybe someone on the team also scanning forums UwU (If so: hello UX team. If you would like an interview message me lol)
Anywho, thanks again for your help! I shall now play with my hunter for the time being I guess. Or maybe use the time and learn something new, like rogue lol
