So the new Blizzard UI just keeps resetting completely to default after a log out / exit from the game. On top of that a lot of addon errors are making it really unpleasant to play the game / some addons are just not working.
Is it one of those things where its best to wait out until the fix? Maybe someone has some solutions to these issues? Or another forum post about it?
I have created new profile in game for UI in edit mode, yet it keeps disappearing after a log out.
Addons are changing by the day. Personally, I have established a small stable set, and I’m going with that and not trying to fix or debug conflicts while they work things out for now. Things do settle over the course of a couple of weeks.
If you are seeing addon errors, I would disable those addons and do without them for now.
If you are seeing addon errors while trying to edit the screen, then there is a decent chance something in the interaction is interfering with the save. I’m getting this myself, with the weirdest addons; I would understand Pitbull or Bartender clashing with a screen edit, but Notes?? Weird. Anyhow, I don’t care for now. I’m waiting for the dust to settle.
Try disabling ALL addons, logging in, doing your edit. Log out. Log in again: has your screen layout saved ok?
Currently, we do not have a resolution, however this appears to happen only if the chat frame is modified. Leaving the chat frame alone should help to ensure your settings save. Be sure to check our Bug Report forums for any new issues.
The thing causing ui to reset might be related to write permissions on hard drive and also might be related to what kind of account you are running on. Run the game as administrator if you can or if its your own machine, check that you are logged in as administrator. Also check properties on the drive WoW is installed on to see the permissions.
I would really recommend turning at least all the ui related addons off and check how things work then and all others that are not up to date should also be disabled for now. Check the curse forge app to see if it has any updates available for those installed addons.

I haven’t had the issue myself but can you set up a profile on another character, then save it. See if it sticks then see if you can apply that profile to the char that isn’t working?
Convert to Raid and it is back where it should be. Not great if you’re doing quests and want to mark somewhere for you or your friends to patrol near or something.
You can convert to Raid, place markers and convert back to party. A bit of faff but meh.
I used to use world marker flags when doing some quests (like ones where you have to round-up stray goats and herd them back to a spot) but now I’ll have to create a party get an alt to join, convert to raid, place markers and convert back to party for something that I could just do myself before.
In one of the articles about similar issue something similar was advised as well. I do use my own PC to play the game and nobody uses this one besides me. Made sure that I run the game “as administrator”.
So far as mentioned above I just decided to save / export UI into a text file and import it back in after every logout or /reload.
I play arena mainly and therefore will have to probably wait it out until addons are up to date / not causing any errors.
Otherwise, I feel a little clueless without some addons in arena. Hopefully by the start of DF itself, where arena games going to matter again, main issues are going to be resolved.
