As we delve into the Season of Discovery in World of Warcraft, it’s goodthat we provide constructive feedback to enhance our experience. I’d like to address the current state of resto druids and offer some insights for improvement. As a Resto druid from Era and now SoD, i feel quite capable of providing some feedback on this topic.
Firstly, let’s examine the current dynamics for resto druids in this season. With the introduction of runes, resto druids find themselves in a peculiar position, often straddling the line between healer and DPS roles. The recent adjustments to mana costs for Nourish and Lifebloom runes are appreciated, yet they still lack the synergy necessary to make them truly viable options in our healing arsenal.
In the healer-oriented runes category, Wild Growth stands out as our primary and most potent healing spell. Its efficiency and effectiveness often overshadow other healing spells, rendering runes like Lifebloom, Nourish, and Living Seed less appealing. Additionally, the inclusion of runes like Dreamstate and Fury of Stormrage nudges us towards a more DPS-centric playstyle, which, while viable at our current level, may not align with the healing-focused gameplay many of us aspire to at higher levels.
To address these concerns and foster better synergy for resto druids, I propose the following suggestions:
-
- Make HoTs Crittable: Introducing crits to our healing-over-time spells would greatly enhance synergy, particularly with the Living Seed rune. Whether through integrating this functionality into Living Seed or introducing it as part of a future rune, allowing HoTs to crit would provide more depth to our healing toolkit.
-
- Expand Dreamstate Rune: Currently, the Dreamstate rune primarily benefits from damage crits, limiting its utility for druid healers. Expanding its functionality to include healing crits would not only make it more relevant but also ensure its viability in our healing rotations. Alternatively, introducing a new rune, perhaps themed around the Tree of Life, could provide a dedicated option for healing-oriented gameplay.

3.Nerf Wild Growth : While Wild Growth undoubtedly serves as a powerful tool for resto druids, its dominance in our healing rotations overshadows the potential utility of other healing spells. By slightly nerfing the efficiency or cooldown of Wild Growth, we can encourage a more balanced approach to healing, where other spells like Lifebloom and Nourish can shine without being overshadowed.
By implementing these changes, we can enrich the resto druid experience in Season of Discovery, fostering a more engaging and balanced gameplay for healers. I encourage fellow druids to share their thoughts and suggestions to further refine our class dynamics.
