A lot of people are unhappy right now about horde having disappeared and everyone playing nice now as happy families. Si what if there were a schism within the factions and races?
This could already be in blizzard plans, what with the horde now in control of darkshore and therefore all of kalimdor, so what if things are moving in a direction of eastern kingdoms being in full alliance control?
Some way I can see this play out, since everyone is all nice, then quelthalas could become one entity and be part of the alliance, and calia menethil could lead the forsaken as allies.
Naturally there would be uproar and this is where it gets good. Every character of every race has the choice of whether they support this or not. We could see other factions take control over kalimdor and reject the alliance completely and become the new horde, and could signify what a lot of players feel the horde should be. So rather than all orcs being horde, you choose to have your home at Arathi or durotar for example.
I think this could be really interesting for the game. What do you think?
My guild (as most guilds) is a mix of Horde and Alliance, the faction war ship has sailed as far as Iām concerned. It makes zero sense that I do all the in game content with the opposite faction for them to then be at war with us.
I would rather see them embrace cross factions totally and let us do all content together, LFR, TW, random Heroic. It will improve queues for everyone.
Well realistically weāre at the point where new Alliance vs. Horde conflict makes zero sense for a long time as most of conflicts has been settled so this game probably needs full faction split revamp (something like mercenary mode, idk).
On other side tho, some leader going mad and launching full-scale war after big old faction-uniting evil worked at least twice with Garrosh and Sylvanas, and theoretically can work again with any leader going nuts again (e.g. Tyrande is still probably very angry at Horde while crying over Malfurion somewhere, and Yrel is still adolfing her way around in Draenor). At the end of the day, Turalyon, lowkey psychotic zealot, is still Lord-Commander of Alliance, and Vindicaar is around still if anyone will question Light in front of him one more time.
Thereās always a spark to reignite long-going war, you just wait.
Ironically they added night elves and forsaken to the start roster to not have this situation.
They wanted each faction to have a foothold onto the other continent.
Really only thing they would need is maybe a faction specific entry into a expansion some faction specific NPCs and quest and some fitting story telling, the conflict in itself isnt really needed.
When i see/hear complains its mostly that they would want more of there own faction rep being present.
The PvP aspect in practice isnt that wanted atleast judging from what a ghost town Warmode is.
BFA was the final shot of Horde getting any lore. Players brought this on themselves when they supported Saurfang. Blizzard killed too many of our leaders which is why we are absent now. Canāt tell a story with our heroes when they are all dead already. So Alleria and her family get the spotlight instead.
Nonsense, the villain-bat was looming over Sylvanasā head from the moment they made her warchief, possibly even sooner, youāre woefully overestimating the influence players have on the story. (A few footnotes aside, like āVolājin is less gobby to Alliance players nowā or āOkay, Tyrande gets to off one Valākyrā)
Anyway, Saurfang or Sylvanas have nothing to do with this (Blizzardās focus now shifted to Alleria and her hangers-on instead), Blizz are outright ignoring both factions, the Horde-only bit in Silvermoon is the only reference to the factions still existing as separate groups at all.
Mostly yea, but in slayers rise they play a role even if a borderline mocking as entertainment for the Void Beings and a bit more prolific in the Silver Covenant and the Sunreavers given mostly in the notion that they wont forgive each others factions.
Silver covenant and Sunreavers is just like Rommath and Umbric, some NPCs grumbling at each other without any lore implications whatsoever, and the Slayerās rise thing⦠It comes across as more mocking people still pushing faction war than anything else, thereās something massive coming (At some point, Xalāatath will stop with the enigmatic snarking and actually do something⦠right?), and theyāre off playing soldiers in a far-flung corner of an even more far-flung zone.
I reckon thereās plenty of people who want the bad guy fantasy. Iām sure there are fans of characters such as Nathanos Blightcaller. People who want to cause chaos. We have a ābad guyā at every expansion, so why not have the new horde simply be chaotic evil and ally with twilight hammer or whoever is on the opposite side of the heroes.
If I recall right, the last news we had on that was that this timeline has ceased to exist because it waned over time as the timeline was corrected or something.
At least thatās what others told me.
The Vindicaar has no working weapon arsenal anymore, as the weapons were used in Antorus to breach the seal to the forge and were destroyed in the process.
I can give you several.
The Void or Xalāatath corrupting the mind of one of the faction leaders, manipulating them into starting a war.
The essense of NāZoth, which was in the Blade of the Black Empire, which was used by Xalāatath to extract Lāura and in result now likely IS within Alleria, could lead to a return of NāZoth over time who THEN manipulates Horde and Alliance into fighting each other again by twisting their minds
A simple fight over resources and territory could happen as well
Local leaders far away from the Alliances or Horde leadership, could take matters into their own hands as their respective Alliance/Horde neighbors keep upsetting them. First it starts with insults, then a rivalry, then some incidents involving minor injuries. Suddenly someone dies, maybe a few more. Tensions and anger rise. Make ready for War!
There are many, many easy ways to incite the War between factions again, regardless if in the grand scale or small scale of things.
I didnāt liked how devoted paladin was gaslighted into being a villain of sorts. The guy is combat commander who fought Legion on countless worlds. But never ever did he turned his weapons against elven or human kingdoms.
That episode with Zul-jar is pure comedy, when Tyralion couldnāt redirect his hit into spin or fall instead of hitting his son who is complete idiot and didnāt used blessing of protection on troll he was eager to save. But it seems I expect too much from barely competent wrighting and animation team remains.
