New Item to Mitigate Stygia Loss in the Maw

Honestly wish whole reams of this currency was dumped into an account shared by all characters. But that’s too convenient for players and thus won’t be done.

Tbh, WoW already had mechanics that do punish deaths.

  • Armor durability (repair costs)
  • Soul Walk (when you die)
  • Death penalty debuff (when you ressurect at the Spirit healer) (5 Minutes debuff which does decrease all stats by 75%)

Been there since the start and are not the same thing.

you could of maybe not even made the maw in the first place… if you are removing all the effects anyway…

Very lazy fix, tbh.

Guys, I get you are non conforming with things in the game (I’m neither, there’s many things wrong in the game), but at least be fair on the criticism so the feedback is useful.

Stygia has been repurposed and it’s not like an old resource for things that aren’t usable anymore (except some things in Ve’nari that should have been changed…), it’s like void fragments in the pre-patch of Legion and then in 7.2.

Not sure how can one lose stygia there though, must be very weak players who die constantly.

The thing is;
compromise is generally considered a Lose-Lose.
When you’re game developer what you want to pursue is a Win for the player.
Not necessarily for all players, it can be Win-Lose among them…
But some players have to win.

This is no-win scenario for players that was induced loss. I’d understand if it was like PvP in which if you kill a player, you can keep some of his Stygia… then sure.

But this is not fun. Making it less frustrating while still keeping the not-fun element doesn’t make sense.
You don’t listen to players feedback by making unfun things less frustrating. You listen to them by either not making them mandatory or removing them if necessary and implementing fun things instead.

I hate the notion when Blizzard introduces some very bad fix to by-design-broken system while keeping the broken system and some players cheering for that.
This compromising compromises the game. And yes you annoy players just a little bit less, so they leave to other games just a little bit slower.

99% of deaths are from lag and server disconnects. You cant really fight against that.

Most of lags are because of addons though.

That doesn’t go well for developers either. There are plenty games that don’t require addons.

I don’t get disconnects much and if I do, it’s not the case because of addons.
But you have to admit, that when game is built in a way that addons are required to coordinate through it, then you can’t blame people for using them and your game at very least should cooperate with that well.

But that’s just mitigating damage you’d be doing as developer. Ideally people wouldn’t use addons, because they’d not need to.

Most of the lags are because of terrible servers, but i guess you dont even play in Maw/Korthia.

I do play and I do not die there.
In the Maw I do a WB and assault, in Korthia I do dailies, collect chests and kill as many rares in an hour as possible.

Must be an empty shard/dead server then. Because on wednesday its constant lags and disconnects.

We’re happy you’re happy, however… most everyone else is unhappy. Therein lies the issue.
