New Short Story: We Ride Forth

Greetings, members of the Argent Dawn commuinity!

A new short story has been released, focusing on the Four Horsemen, named We Ride Forth! I’ve not read it yet, but lets see what we all think!

Lot of takeaway snippets from this piece. Some I picked out anyway:

  • The Death Knight veterans of the Fourth War were raised after Sylvanas did the evil villain flying away from Orgrimmar. And were gathered during the course of the war by the Ebon Blade ready.

  • The latest Death Knights received no training upon being raised and were immediately sent forth into the world. I guess trial by fire for them.

  • The non-DKs of Acherus turned against the rest when the helm was destroyed requiring to be put down or re-dominated.

  • Thoras and Nazgrim are buddies.

  • Bolvar had the ability and could command even the horsemen against their own will. And was as we kind of new already a continuing presence in the back of their minds.

  • Even Bolvar was reading Lich Queen fan theories on the forums

Glad this fills some gaps between Legion and the end of BfA. Also the fact that the Ebon Blade didn’t infact as happily follow Bolvar/the LK during all that as it seemed initially.

I like the story itself but the guy who wrote it didn’t really do that good of a job characterizing darion and bolvar, they felt underwhelming. I also didn’t like how he explained every revelation near the end as if the reader couldn’t possibly figure it out. It’s a good story when describing the situation and how the death knights didn’t want to side with the lich king for obvious reasons. Probably one of the few the ebon blade faction is gonna get in a long time unless it sticks around for the entirety of the expac

Excellent story. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

I just wish it had come out earlier… It’s rough for my DK to react to things that already happened.

The Frozen Throne is confirmed to be the Astronomican of WoW, but for Death Knights and not psykers.
