I was raiding BFD with my Retri (Alliance on the Lone Wolf server in Classic SoD). This raid partially consisted of the ######### guild. From the beginning, the loot rule was set to MS>OS. I was the only DD in the raid who could use 2h swords. After the final boss fight, the epic sword Deadly Strike of the Hydra dropped. After I rolled for it, both tanks from the ######### guild also rolled on it. The player ######## then simply took it as the loot master. If it had been communicated from the start that tanks would also roll on such items, it would have been a clear situation but they just wrote MS>OS.
I hope this warning is understood, as such situations should not occur in WoW.
Hello again, I am the loot master of the raid. I have no significant role in this guild and pulling them into your drama isnt needed.
The loot rules as stated was ms/os.
In my world a 2h is infact on lv25 an ms roll for tank, most of the raid content will be faster and smoother with a tank that generates alot of threat!
Our second tank was rolling loot as dps as stated before raid started. He just went tank to get the raid going.
I won the roll, you came third.
When you started the tanks cant roll drama i gave it to second highest roller, still not you.
We consider the same loot different ways. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Just to quote wowhead
When not tanking single-target bosses in raid, it is recommended to use a strong 2-handed weapon instead of a sword and shield setup for superior rage generation and AoE potential with.
Primarily, this is a damage (Dmg) item. If you choose to use it for building aggro, any other 2h weapon would be suitable, not necessarily the Best in Slot (BIS) weapon for Retribution. I wouldn’t roll with the tank on your BIS shield, claiming I need it so that if I draw aggro, I can quickly equip it to take less damage.
This is why you never join ms>os runs. Join a guild or do softreserve pugs, even gdkps are way better than ms>os. In those runs everyone rolls on everything for the most ridiculous reasons
