I’m leveling all the classes to 70 (actually 3 to 70 without boost) + progress on my main. Is that not “playing the game” for you ?
Btw, i’m on a mid pop server. Sometimes it’s hard to find a group (especially as DPS + raid days) but waiting more than 20min with my war (tank) never happened.
Because it’s the “main issue” for dungeons : tank shortage. Not the lack of LFD which doesn’t solve this BTW.
Dual spec & Death Knight help to solve this, not LFD.
It has never taken me more than 10 min to fill a dungeon group. From low level to heroics.
Whats sad to see, is that this is all do black and white. To some degree dungeonfinder did ruin a part of the community, but in other places it made it blossom. Im sad to see blizzard is so disconnected from reality, to see what is going on as we speak.
Boosters, are gonna love this change, me included, cause it means that Sl boosting, occulus boost and nexusboost is gonna pay for my legendary. But hey, either the feature stays or it goes imma right.
So what about the levling community and alts. Even on the biggest server, i still dont find people in pre 60 zones questing, grouping or doing any form of dungeon content. All players are found outside the instance portals of Sm, Sfk and Stratholme. Why wouldnt the Lookingfordungeon tool be enabled for people levling? Stop the boost spams, give a healthy economy, and let people farm materials? Hey, what about even letting 70-80 lfd work, but exclude heroic from the random dungeon finder? The feature itself is amazing for some stuff, and ruining community sense in others.
You cant ruin something that is already dead, like any levling from 1-70. But limiting our use of it at level 80 surely would mean we would be positively encouraged to communicate more.
It might bring some toxicity in form of reserving all unwanted items, but atleast it would breath life into 1-79 and encourage players to level more, and with others! Or instead of paying 15-35 gold to a random idiot, and sit 12 min afk watching ur experience bar go up. Ngl, its engaging content.
The finder was only introduced with 3.3.0 so you would’ve to engage in social interactions for the majority of the time anyways.
If you want the retail feel, just spam WOTLK dungeons on an alt right now in retail & enjoy dodging every chance of social interaction.
I played wrath and never in my life did i see a group asking for achievement link for a fricking dungeon run. The dungeons were easy af normal or hc.

It’s so interesting to see how the community once again split up as it did back in 2009. Even though Wrath was the most popular expansion back then (subs) it was the time it started to drop off numbers of players that they never seen before. And it’s easy - some people love that it’s getting more “retail” and some people hate it. LFD is this tool that start splitting people. Obviously this thread is LFD friendly but it’s time for Microsoft to find new solutions for the future games than making new retail expansions or classic versions that in the long term will flop. The reason classic was so popular was the social aspect of it but most of it because they timed it during COVID. People are following the LIVE games and so will it be if you for once start develope something new - Wow 2 for example.

The LFD tool was the main reason for me to play WOTLK classic. Without it I’m not so sure

unsubbed both accounts… I’m all for some changes (new raid difficulties, accound wide reps, achievments, mounts etc.), but removing parts of game that were already in the original WOTLK? no thanks…

If added in-game an option to not use show etc would be essential for me.
The cluttered overinforming nightmare of a UI in Retail alone is enough to make me not play it.
