Normalise Sword Design

Is it me or has sword design been getting more and more ludicrous. It honestly feels like we are Guts with a slab of iron half the time. With the blade being larger than the crossguard so much so I could use it as a paddle to row down a river.

There is a few exceptions to this rule such as: DK weapons you get in the broken isles, coldflame’s edge or Arator’s new sword (gorgeous design hope we can get it in blue and silver). The datamined void elf greatsword looks good as well the one-handed blood elf sword.

I’m hoping blizzard keep doing more realistic detailed designs like this and ideally add a two-handed version of coldflame’s edge. Feel free to name any other good or bad looking swords below.

EDIT: It seems that Arator’s Sword as an earnable reward in the form of Greatsword of Returning Light. Good job Blizzard as you know people would want the appearance.

Askhandi was the first paddle sword I can remember back then

Yeah, agree, I use only few sword Tmogs for over decade just because of this.

I’ve honestly been sticking with the normal looking swords so grey/whites from vanilla and TBC. The odd occasion of Quel’Delar even though its a little bit of a paddle.

Fel Iron Greatsword will be my go to with my BE Paladin armour for Midnight.

The questing and max level open world weapons for midnight seem to be much more proportional.
