OMG Why is Story Mode Dimensius SO HARD?

Hard or not: There are mechanics that instant kills you in story mode. There should not be!

I really don’t know why this part is so difficult for you to understand!?

So you want a target dummy? Nothing instant kills you without a wind up… the game tells you to mount… the NPC run to show you where to run to be safe.

For a story mode, yes, I absolutely expect a target dummy. I absolutely expect that if I have to fight it’s a gd no stakes fight where nothing can kill me, and where no matter what I do the boss will do me the courtesy of falling over as soon as I have hit it a few times.

That may be. Maybe it was bugged for me, maybe I just didn’t see it, but all I got was Xal’atath saying “follow me” and then being unable to move - which obviously meant I died. Instantly. In story mode. Without, I might add, an explanation as to why or how I failed, so yes, I did it again. And by then I had gotten far enough in this thread that I learnt I had to mount up, and I was just barely fast enough that I didn’t find out if the cast the adds were doing would’ve been yet another one-shot, but between you and me: At this point I might’ve well just waited for LFR to open, because by then I’ll at least get rep for the “pleasure” of killing the guy.

So I’ll say this once again: If you want to do mechanics, if you want the risk of instant death, there are 4 raid modes that provide this experience already. STORY mode should not be the 5th. Story mode should be exactly that: A story where you might have to participate but there is no risk in doing so.

It’s buggy sometimes, things that have happened to me:

  • Game won’t let me mount and I fall to death
  • It let’s me mount but after awhile I get dismounted and fall to death
  • I mount up, reach the first platform and die instantly
  • My AI party vanishes in P1 and I end up fighting Dimensious alone

Just to name a few.

Then no rewards.

I don’t know. Dimensius health was very low, everything seemed to be ok then suddenly it was a wipe.

There aren’t any.

And what other quest bosses have multiple phases? Except from that one in Undermine: NONE.

NO, they DO NOT. At least for me. They either do NOTHING, or the insta-kill attack comes so quickly after landing there, that there’s no time to do ANYTHING AT ALL.

Which is why I haven’t been able to get past it. Because if the inst-attack happens immdiately there’s no time, and if it does NOT happen immediately, the NPCs are still standing still when it comes, making me the only survivor. And as I’ve already said: this is NOT a solo encounter, you can’t do anything alone.

Nope, it does NOT. The woman simply says something like “follow me”. THAT’S ALL. No comment from her about mounting up, no game message. Nothing. This is why I died the first time, but never again since I now know.

Oops. I got to third stage and there was just a sign telling me I was dead. No idea what happened… A few days left on my sub and I wont renew it.

I went in blind they ran to one side I followed… And you have lots of time to move without movement skills…

it flashes up MOUNT UP lol or something in yellow… Since I need another crest I’ll go it again and screenshot it…

WHat a lot of people in this thread dont realize, is that it is due to bugs some like me havent been able to finnish it. Not because we are bad players and cant handle mechanics, even if I do agree that one shot mechanics that end the fight, should note be present in story mode. When things like the npc whipe or you get desmounted during flight happens it is out of your control and just bad coding.

About that… WoW does have many bugs today due to flawed Q&A, when people read the news telling the bad stories a psychological effect takes place spreading negativity. You may very well tell the truth and maybe WoW is simply not working well with your hardware or something.

However, it is also possible that you’re leaving out details because it is not fun to admit your own inability/lack of understanding in how to do something.
27 minutes overtime on halls +2, that makes me think you lack understanding of how to handle mechanics in WoW.

I’ve yet to see any recorded clips of the bugs in the dimenious story mode encounter like I searched for it on youtube but all I could find is how-to-do-it guides.

I understand liking solo gameplay in a mmorpg like Delves for example. It can be fun. But I think the Raid should only be multiplayer. I don’t know why it’s even in the game. Let single player content be good as single player content, and vice-versa. This idea of giving a solo version for a raid seems stupid. What is Blizzard gonna do in Midnight? Have 3 solo modes for their 3 new raids? Seems silly to me.

Unfortunately after 10 tries I can conclude that no,there is not enough time to reach the safe zone of that platform.
A couple of the tries were unsuccessful due to not being told properly to take Flight(I already knew I had to do it from what I ve read)…but follow me, then seeing nothing is not proper indication.
So yeah this fight is not normal.
They should really stop the flying shenanigans in instances.
And one shot mechanics in story mode.

No.Because if I use fel rush and I don’t appreciate the distance properly I will fall to my death.Or there is no falling off and I am safe?
But yeah, that sounded a bit condescending which was not needed tyvm.

You can fall but it’s also not really needed to use any movement abilities. It just makes you faster. If you feel you need the extra time you can wait in the middle til the mechanic happens, then rush to the side that’s safe and walk the rest of the way.

They give you a really long time between him raising his fist and the bolder actually coming.

I really don’t know how else to explain that everytime I reach the platform the double purple lines happen and it’s less than a second later I get insta killed,while trying to reach the safe zone.

I did it on my druid during the weekend and I had zero issues. Phase1 didn’t have to care about any mechanics, took little to no damage. Second phase I would say worked as intended, the npc’s ran to the sides no problem(I didn’t use any movement abilities and it made it safety just fine) during the big boss attact. Phase 3 also no issues, I didn’t really bother with mechanics much and boss went down.
So reading the comments here, it sounds like you’re getting bugs? I will have to test it out on my dps to see how it is but I do remember Gallywix just taking ages.
