Outlaw Energy problems

Hey guys, I mained combat and then outlaw rogue for the longest time (MoP, WoD, Legion, then skipped BfA after the first raid and most of shadowlands).

What happened with our energy regen? We were once the rogue spec with the most energy and now it feels like we absolutely need Thistletea up all the time. After automatically using up all charges it s like we are in a desert energy wise.

Is it just me, or is it old news?

It’s a known issue. Outlaw has to take all of energy talents, including Blade Rush, and that lets you more or less not fall off for long, as long as you have high uptime and aren’t plagued with One of a Kind five times in a row.

The general issue with Rogue design is that Blizz took a class, made them 1-second GCD and then consistently refused to let most or all of its specs be GCD-locked rather than resource-locked. Outlaw is the closest to GCD-locked and sometimes was (TWW Outlaw was, and was rolling at 0.8 GCD on top), but right now it has seemingly random yet unavoidable Energy dips.

Considering the track record for Rogue attention, I wouldn’t expect any significant changes until at least 12.0.5 (May or so).

Thanks for the answer ^^

It could also be that we need to hit a certain haste cap with the auto attackspeed talent so we generate enough, but we will have to see.

Since we’re currently in prepatch with end-of-S3 values and everyone’s running around with 30% or more Haste, I don’t think more Haste will fix it. Especially not in S1.

Yeah, sorry i was not clear i think.

I was also trying it out on the beta on max level rogues and there was still an energy problem, but i hope that it will change after we get to the new max level and stack more into haste than before. (The basic gear on beta is pretty bad after all xD)

Yup energy regen is a real bad problem now, I can barely attack as it’s constantly running out after every action, it’s really difficult to play now, blizz needs to fix this FAST
