Pack Leader “Stampede!” wildlife pathing bug on slopes (Z-axis issue)

Spec: Beast Mastery Hunter – Pack Leader Hero Talents

Description

There seems to be a pathing bug with the Stampede! effect from the Pack Leader tree.

When Bestial Wrath → Kill Command triggers Stampede, the wildlife that charges the target appears to travel directly from the player’s Z-axis position instead of following the terrain.

Because of this:

  • If the hunter is above the target (downhill), the beasts run in the air toward the pack.

  • If the hunter is below the target (uphill), the beasts move through the ground or inside the terrain while charging.

So the wildlife does not follow the terrain height and instead moves in a straight line based on the player’s vertical coordinate.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Play Beast Mastery Hunter with Pack Leader hero talents.

  2. Trigger Stampede! using Bestial Wrath → Kill Command.

  3. Stand on a slope or elevation difference relative to the target pack.

  4. Observe the wildlife charge path.

Expected behavior

The wildlife should path along the terrain surface toward the target.

Actual behavior

The wildlife moves directly from the player’s Z-axis position, causing them to float above the ground or move through terrain.

Additional note

This is most noticeable in dungeons with slopes or ramps.

annoying bug especially lots of slop dungeons like murder row or den of nolorak

Yeah, it’s going to be one like pet pathing I bet where they so often get stuck (and why I end up getting frustrated with BM). I mean I remember this crap back on the Taloc life (first boss of first raid of BfA, so a long time ago) and it’s still a persistent problem.

Confirm.

Also problematic under water. My bear keeps rambling around on the ground of the sea.

XD.

personally I should like that talent gone, it does not match the way I see my hunter at all

It’s also not just a visual issue it frequently also won’t actually hit the target at all meaning a massive loss of damage in the process
