Pack Leader Fantasy: Why are we forced into random wildlife instead of our own stable?

I’m usually a “lurker.” I never post on these forums, and I rarely even comment on Reddit. I usually just play the game and keep my thoughts to myself, but I just can’t handle this anymore. It’s midnight, we’re into a new expansion, and the state of the Pack Leader Hero Talents is just… I’m at a loss. We don’t even have a glyph to fix this yet.

The core fantasy of a Hunter—especially a “Pack Leader”—is the bond we have with our pets. I’ve spent years tracking rare spawns and camping spirit beasts to curate a stable that fits my character’s theme.

Yet, the current mechanics force a “random wildlife” theme on us. When procs summon temporary beasts to “assist” the pack, they pull from a generic pool of models. If I’m running a aqiri bug-themed hunter, having a random organic wolf pop up completely ruins the immersion.

The Main Issues:

  • Visual Inconsistency: The random models often have nothing to do with my active pets or my character’s aesthetic.

  • Stable Irrelevance: Why is the “Pack Leader” summoning a stranger from the woods instead of one of the loyal beasts waiting in my stable?

  • Zero Customization: We don’t even have a simple glyph to force these summons to match our current pets or a specific stable slot.

The Solution:

Please, let the Pack Leader procs pull models from our actual stable. It would go a long way in making this Hero Tree feel like it belongs to our hunter, not just a generic template.

I didn’t want to have to come here and vent, but the “Pack Leader” should be about the pets we’ve chosen to lead, not just whatever random animal was standing nearby in the code.

100% agree.

I am Inquisitor with full Arathi Armor Set and my fearsome Lynx pet is called Justice.

Why do i get freaking little monkeys join my fight, unless i command.

Thats what a Beastmaster does, he commands the beasts !

Also way to much random animals join the fight so that you end up with a zoo of pets and can’t even click the loot.

Little off topic, most visual annoyance is that a BM is basically now a glowing red tomato, because you need to have Beastial Wrath up as much as possible or you are loosing the spec of “damage dealer”.

I never have been so off-put in my over 15 years of WoW BM main, ever.
