Enlist with the Bilgewater Battalion today because UNCLE BEDLAM WANTS YOU!
The Bilgewater Battalion are back in the business of beating up mooks for the Bilgewater Cartel, the Horde, but most importantly, for money and beach front property!
After a short hiatus just after our one year anniversary, we’ve decided to revamp our concept a bit and start the story of Goblins both new and old banding together under the banner of a new division, the Wildcards.
Who are the Wildcards?
The 52nd Wildcards division is an experimental division of the Battalion which champions the ability to adapt to any situation which is thrown at them. Whether it involves special ops, salvaging, demolitions or beating people up for protection money, when the Battalion are not back in Bilgewater Harbour patrolling the mean streets or inventing brand new weaponry to destroy our enemies with, we are out in the field doing what a Goblin lead army does best, running a military division like a company and making as much money as we possibly can.
There are four major facets to what makes the Wildcards so special:
The Ranks -
The Wildcards have a more streamlined rank system which is more condensed and focused around giving people a sense of career progression. Starting out as a Tryout you’ll have to prove yourself to earn your card and become part of the team. On from there, with dedication you could become an enforcer who has more liberties in enforcing the Captain and the Cartels will or even one of the Captains Lieutenants who aids him in the day to day management of the Battalion as you take squads of Battalion out on adventures of your own design.
The Try Outs -
As stated previously, to become a Wildcard and be let in on all of the units secrets and schemes, you must first go through try outs. From when you first enlist, your characters dedication and performance within the Battalion will be observed to see if you’ll fit in with the gang, and on try out day which is usually a day or two before we deploy on an assignment; Goblins, Orcs and Forsaken alike will be put through a series of try outs, testing their strength, agility, intellect and teamwork, as well as being required to showcase the skills which make them unique before they can gain their card.
The Cards -
Once you have succeeded in your try outs, you will be offered a card by the Captain or one of the Lieutenants. Using the Darkmoon tarot cards as a basis (Trautfizzle may or may not have stolen the deck from the Faire), your character will be able to pick a card and your nickname will be based on the card you pick, so choose wisely! This is done to make things feel more personal, as if once you’ve completed your try outs you’re a part of the team and you have your own special role to play; a bond which if you betray will result in death, and if you die, your card and thus your nickname, will be passed onto the next soldier who picks it.
The acting Captain, currently Doctor Jastor J. Trautfizzle, has more powers and responsibilities than Captains had in the past. Battalion command have decided to be more hands off with this experimental division, and buy and large they have given the Captain the ability to shape the division as they please, discipline their soldiers as they please and pick and choose what the Battalion will or will not do. This means that the Captain as well as the Lieutenants and Enforcers which they choose will change the way the Battalion operates more than they did in the past, for better or for worse.
The Bilgewater Battalion has some rules in place for the Wildcards which we hope will help us to avoid some of the attendance issues which we had in the past. The Tryout rank is there for you to get a feel for the guild and you are free to leave whenever you want during that time as we completely understand that sometimes a guild is not for you. However, once you have officially joined the Wildcards by attending Try Outs, you’re considered part of the team and you are expected to be committed to the guild. For this reason, if you’ve not been online for around two weeks without giving us any notification of ‘please don’t kick me’ you may be liable to be removed from the guild!
The Bilgewater Battalion are always looking for more Goblins, Orcs and Forsaken to join their ranks. We are based in Bilgewater Harbour usually but most days there will be one or two people in Orgrimmar, especially our recruiter, Nixzi. Feel free to send a letter or a PM in game to Trautfizzle or Nixzi, and we can start you off as one of our Tryouts as soon as we can!
