Because they got places to be and can’t just stand around all they because you don’t want to get yourself your own AH mount or walk your little tush to the nearest AH in town.

They got no obligation to stand still.
Friend of mine love to stand on his next to mailboxes but will kick out the AH npc.
He legit gotten death threats over this.

I don’t really pay attention to others standing near me and will move or dismount when I’ve done what I wanted to. If I have noticed anyone though and I’m not in a rush then I might stick around a minute until I see them move on.
Can confirm it’s really fun 
It’s their personal mount and as such their personal AH. If you happen to stand close by and can use it, good for you, but you have absolutely no right to demand that they waste their time so you can continue using their personal AH at your leisure.
Because it’s their mount and also may have limited time to play so they aren’t going to sit around like your personal servant and let you shop at their expense.

Generally speaking I mount up, look for whatever I need run to mailbox, run back to crafting station, and it dismounts me to start crafting.
I was using someone else’s mount once and he kicked the vendor off. So I mounted on my own and used that.

I love walking up and trading people that are using AH mount or Transmog mount, as it interrupts it and closes the windows for you lmao
I’d love this.
Would really annoy the people who were able to get one back in the day and now crow about it, or troll people by booting the npc off when someone is using it.
Note: I know not everyone with one of these mounts does this. Just talking about the ones that do.
In reality we all know we’ll never get these mounts widely available, even as a huge gold sink.
Same with tmog mount…
How I try,
I AFK a LOT, dare say 75% of my play time is me being AFK till I disconnect. I typically have the Brutosaur mount up before I do though.
