Fandom (Wikia) buying Curse (Gamepedia). Basically, this means that wowpedia will become complete crap. Just like wowwiki. The editors of wowpedia are currently looking for a solution…most likely they will “simply” create a new “pedia” again.
Warcraftpedia?
And… elaborate?
Originally only “wowwiki” existed, however over time it simply became terrible: More ads, videos which automatically started playing, the layout became worse etc. So some guys broke away from wowwiki and created wowpedia. The currently best site if you want to know anything about Warcraft. But, now the people who already own wowwiki have bought “Curse” where wowpedia is hosted…and the fear right now is that wowpedia will become the same crappy website that wowwiki is right now overblown with ads.
Ahh…Finally. A solution to the pandaren question…
Honestly, this is very based + I am so proud of my Horde for taking out these filthy Alliance sympathizers.
Lok’tar ogar! For the Horde!
Shoo with your Scourgeposting. Back to 2009 with you.
Raids don’t actually encourage PvP, they encourage stomping on individuals or small groups. This is tied into a few things, but off the top of my head
Risk vs. reward - raids get more reward out of hunting down individuals or ganking flightpaths/quest locations rather than fighting other raids
Server stability - the few times I’ve been in a warmode raid and it’s gone up against an opposing raid, the server instantly began stuttering and dying, which isn’t conducive to actual pvp content.
It’s antithetical to incursion content given that the majority of incursion quests can’t be completed in a raid, meaning you end up with a few people struggling to complete a quest while an opposing faction raid farms you for HKs. And if you get a raid of your own? Well you can’t do the quest you were there for in the first place.
They tend to massively skew the shard faction balance because it’s a sudden influx of one faction.
So… how screwed is Curse itself, and its connection with twitch?
Only “Curse Media” was sold. Curse Gaming (meaning the launcher and the addons) is fine because it still belongs to Twitch. If I understand it correctly basically only a small part was actually sold, but that part sadly has wowpedia in it.

I assume the website that hosts the addons will stay.
Peeve: The sudden and crushing realization that I will never be able to roleplay as an Imperial Guardsman/Stormtrooper or a Sister of Battle because Warhammer 40k will never get an MMORPG.
(At least in an online game…there might be boards out there, but that’s just not the same.)
Funnily enough this hasn’t stopped people though. Human/Stormwind roleplay is basically this.
There’s six different tabletop rpg’s out there for 40k. One of which is specifically for playing the Imperial Guard.
A number of military guilds over the years have really tried to do a “Warhammer” approach to things.
Which is… Usually jarring and often just cringe inducing. Warcraft is hardly rainbows and daisies but when you have humans (usually paladins at that, whatever happened to the three virtues?) chanting like Khorne berserkers or rooting out “heresy” (usually by randomly lynching or mobbing random void elves these days) it makes me scratch my head.
Warhammer Online is that way my dudes ---->
Preach did a recent vid covering this and I can only agree with his sentiment. WoW is old now. Really, really old. And it’s got to the point where the hardware and software just doesn’t cut it anymore - it’s why sharding was introduced in the first place, to put a plaster on a gaping wound. Things will only get worse from here on out as far as things like this are concerned.
They also reduced server caps or something, this wasnt a problem before
I think you’d have to find a specific server that supports Roleplay for that. And even then it’s probably highly unlikely that you’ll find such a fulfilling experience that will allow you to do as you wish.
Getting booted out of an Island Expedition is a peeve of mine.
Okay, maybe it’s because I am going by myself and am picking up bits and pieces of Azerite from different encounters, but wouldn’t there be more cause for a boot if I were just doing my own thing and not picking up Azerite?
Truth be told, I wouldn’t mind if those people who kicked me suffer a terminal case of Lego Pain.
Tbh it’s a team activity so if you choose not to work with the team a kick isn’t that unreasonable. Why shouldn’t they exchange you for a teammate who’s willing to roll with them?
Because I thought splitting up to cover more ground is an efficient thing to do.
