Pet Peeve #INFINITY - Thanos gonna cry

Like 80% of your posts on this forum are about how you hate Nathanos loads so my point remains

Looks like they made Nathanos OP too - or rather he was consistently a powerful character from the moment he was added to the game and then became even more powerful in BfA

I think the way it went made more sense than what you’ve written instead

Don’t agree

Nathanos had two Val’kyr + the player character with him and was bestowed an OP boost first from Sylvanas/a Val’kyr in Dark Mirror and then again during the fight from two Val’kyr

You can take any argument you’ve made and flip the names and it works for the other faction :sunglasses:

It’s really funny that you downplay a raid level quest with “lol… ragtag group… green gear…” when those adventurers were the same dudes who were killed C’thun a few months later. You could two-man Tyrande’s city raid boss in Legion - so I guess she is even weaker in your mind

Genn is a High Fantasy setting King so he’s basically incredibly powerful as a baseline. He’s also a worgen (though again - you try to downplay that really weirdly)

About as much as Tyrande before / after her ritual

While certain individuals may certainly have an agenda to undermine Nathanos’ popularity as a character, the truth is he is probably the best character in BfA right now

It’s an argument you made lol

Tyrande’s raid in Darnassus for a bear is not canon. Nathanos requiring ‘an army’ according to the quest giver, however, is:

Do you know how many ranger lords exist in this world? How many human ranger lords have ever existed? Nathanos’ accomplishments were unprecedented. He was a tactical genius, responsible for Alliance victories spanning a decade of conflict. And now… the champion of the Forsaken. No. This cannot be. Order must be restored. Gather an army, [name]. Return to the Plagues with your army and destroy the Blightcaller. I wish you luck, [name]. Truly, you will need it for this battle.

Scrollsage Nola objects.

While certain shadowy individuals (with an evil agenda) may falsely claim that Scrollsage Nola is very cool, her dialogue is not even close to as funny as Nathanos lamenting that a hippo you killed couldn’t have been used as a “weapon for the Horde”

Dreadbore throws an onion at a hawk.

“Yes! YES! Tremble before the might of the Horde!”

Iconic.

I’m sure there are nefarious individuals (with suspect plans for the hippo) who would enjoy Nathanos’ lines but did he enable the safe return of literally thousands of turtles to the water? :turtle:

To be fair, wasn’t the Nathanos quest BEFORE you did a raid, lorewise?

Also, Val’kyr have never been shown ingame to be exceptional powerful iirc?

continuity, tying hands, bad, instead build upon, good, yes?

-Blizz, probably.
Power levels fluctuate all the time.

Quoting my post as ‘an entire powerful druid’ made me chuckle. 10/10

Doesn’t affect my point. Nathanos required an army to take down. Unless you want to get into really strange discussions about the lore-level power of uncommon items, the equipment of the army doesn’t massively matter.

Pact Val’kyr have been. They are capable of resurrecting an exceptionally powerful risen Banshee (Sylvanas) after she’s impaled herself on Saronite, which destroys the soul of whatever it kills. They then resurrect her a second time when Godfrey kills her. There’s no banshee like Sylvanas, but it’s reasonable to assert her power level is at least similar to someone like Kel’thuzad, who required the Sunwell to reanimate.

They can also raise huge numbers of the dead as Forsaken, which until they came around was literally impossible for anyone to do.

Interestingly there are only three Val’kyr left in Sylvanas’ service, well three strong enough to actually raise her from the dead. Tactically it seemed a very risky move placing the majority of them in Darkshore. Now that they’re one down it’s one arrow less in Sylvanas’ quiver.

It seems that Sylvanas’ feelings for Nathanos may actually undo her, if she’s willing to sacrifice one of the fundamental beings she needs to keep the Forsaken “race” going.

Also “On the hour of her third death she ushers our coming” - could it be we kill Sylvanas three times and the Val’kyr remaining sacrifice themselves to raise her, and when she’s out of Val’kyr Sylvanas turns to the Knife-wife and N’Zoth?

My tinfoil hat is tightening.

Sylvanas has already died three times. Quel’thalas, Icecrown and Gilneas/Silverpine.

I’ve been taught new things, then :stuck_out_tongue:

I thought the Forsaken Empire had a few necromancers and a lich-level mage/necromancer in their service that could free Scourge undead and/or raise new forsaken, but they just took way longer than the val’kyr?

Perhaps she needs to die another three times.

Now, here I could be wrong, but before Cataclysm (when the val’kyr came in) the story of the Forsaken PC is that you were just ‘late to rise’ as it were. The Forsaken couldn’t reproduce until the Val’kyr came in - it’s the central conceit of the Cataclysm Forsaken story.

Yes, the PC was about to be disposed off with the others when they suddenly got back up with their free will intact.

An entire race of late risers.

I guess you are referring to Gunther Arcanus here? Pre-Cata there were several quests to recruit him into the Forsaken but nothing came from it afterwards.

An entire race of late risers.

Don’t you sleepy-shame our people

I should have added - unironically my type of people.

So much that rant. So much. Five years of teaching 7-10 year olds and the only time they go ‘cutsie’ is when they either want something from you (usually girls that do that & usually it’s to tell somebody off that upset them), when it’s a joke an adult started or they think you’re a moron.

Take your pick,. it’s one of the three.
It’s not, however, normal everyday behaviour. You can certainly get kids who are, for lack of a better term, ‘sweet’ but that’s not the same thing. Nowhere near.
