Pet peeves: The return (Part 4)

Not on the subject of music, but I can’t help but notice that the voice lines have clearly been recorded at different times and with different settings, perhaps even at different studios, because sometimes a character will say a sentence, then follow it up with another one, but louder or quieter, as if someone messed with the mic between recordings. It’s not a big deal, but it’s pronounced enough to be noticeable.

It lives, somehow. I can hear some rattling noise on the inside which is slightly concerning and it doesn’t immediately turn on, but other than that…

It may still die in the days to come though.

I just had to reset a password for a work thing they I’ve used maybe once ever, years ago.

One of the security questions I’d apparently chosen was “Who is your childhood hero?”
I had no clue, no one really stuck out to me, racking my brain for this stupid question on who I might have chosen in the moment - so my friend suggests what I chose myself?

Lo, behold. I had indeed chosen “Myself” as my childhood hero.

Not sure if it’s an act of self-love or narcissism.

It pisses me off to no end when parents do no parenting and people leave the job to the society and teachers.

My in laws have informed us that they are never returning to the UK.

Please join me in celebration. :champagne:

My man. Congratulations.

What was the straw that broke the camels back? Toad in a hole? Beans on bread?

Not even the food. It was the weather.

Kind of impressive to consider the UK worse than their island which is currently actively on fire tbh

Either way death by exposure to the elements, just on the opposite sides of the spectrum.

It’s 26C and sunny today, what do they have to complain about?

The issue right here is that journalism has collapsed in the face of market pressures and responsible, objective reporting doesn’t generate enough money. The click economy of outrageous headlines trump actual important information and the garbage piles to the heavens.

Thus the principles are eroded and you get hilarious things like an article about the dangers of the nation’s growing gambling addiction having ads for an online casino wedged in the middle. That is, when you don’t get fox news tier nonsense that actually leaves viewers less informed.

Settling the british isles was a mistake. Rome made the right call.
