The zones; the neighbourhoods. Those are “Elwynn Forest with touches of Westfall and Duskwood” and “Durotar, its coastline, and Azshara”.
But they didn’t talk about the houses themselves. The structures. The themes of those.
It could also be limited to just ‘human’ and ‘orc’ styles, but we don’t know this right now for sure.
If you don’t have 50 players on your realm to populate an instance then you got bigger issues than housing in WoW.
You are speculating.
They didn’t release any information on building styles yet.
Looks human and orc themes to me on the structures so far from what they have shown.

The top 2 are decorations. Not building styles.
The bottom one was very clearly marked ‘Inspirational concept art for what the new Horde Neighborhood could be.’
Meaning you should not take anything in that picture as literal.
What I’m saying is fact: They did not discuss what themes we will get at launch for our buildings.
The decorations will come in human-esque and orc-esque styles, sure. They showed concept art of those, but remember: 2 more names have been datamined. So chances are there will be at least 2 more decoration styles for release. With more undoubtedly following - and with Midnight being heavily elven themed, I think it’s very likely we’ll see loads of elven stuff (but yeah, that me speculating there).
I don’t get why some people have such an issue with some limited themes at launch. This system will be in the game forever and we’ll see many more themes and items and styles and zones added in due time. They even said:
The gamut of decor options spans not just the cultures of Azeroth but the many expansions of World of Warcraft as well.
I appreciate your tenacity here. It’s like people didn’t read the article, haha.

All of those housing related art presenting human and orc themed buildings are from the article though.
I hope hosing in WoW is as close as possible to https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Homestead
It is really well made in gw2
What I don’t understand is why WoW gets housing so much later than FF14 and gw2?

Because blizz went from profit first. and over to actualy giving players what they want… so more of a (oh crap these players pay for our game so maybe we should actualy lissen for a change?, yeah lets go do that aswell as make a decent story)

Been saying for years and years that we need to shut down realms because the game isnt as populated as it used to be. But blizz wont do that because adding last names to a character to make a name special is hard for them. But aslong as they make it seem like it is lively in the hood i dont mind. Not realy a person who likes seeing other players so better to see npc’s and to choose who is in my hood
Right there in the middle.
That’s where I’m gonna put my house until I can choose tirisfall or silverpine

You are always welcome to stop by for game of chess or hearthstone in my place if they have any sense to add games into these ![]()
Could Blizz make this system a way of making gold i.e Landlords/Rent etc
Nah No one wants rent.
That’s like the number one thing people always said. No rent and no limited plots
I migh wondering: will housing unlocked like a feature (for free) or do wee need first PAY for our house, like in FF14 (having a gold sink if doing with twinks), i dint know how it was in wildstar, SWTOR and many ither but take a guess it wasn’t cheap either
You’ll pay though the purchase of the expansion.
I wonder if item and furnishing placements are manipulated in a full 3D environment, or is it all in predesignated areas.
It’s blizzard, I’d go with the latter.
They’re probably release it at 10-20% completion and promise to finish it later and then announce another feature to keep us entertained and never revisit this. Just look at our Warbands. They’re already forgotten and were one of the selling points… My friends are already quitting cus they feel like they been lied to and most stuff they touch, they forget.
I’m not very hopeful Housing will be any good, at all, and that it fixes anything.
I’m also very scared it’ll be similar to how Garrisons went on.
I genuinely thought we were about to refresh the game with warbands and go back to the old feeling of Warcraft, revisit it, make it more relevant, but… we’re adding a new feature that’s… not even that immersive with what people expected from wow. It’s a little concerning.
It’s giving archeology.
If anything it will be a way to remove gold from the game, not add.
Nah No one wants rent.
I think you need rent if you want to keep the neighbourhoods alive. Otherwise, people will buy houses, quit and that house will remain “owned” for the rest of the game.
What’s the point of having neighbourhoods if most players who own houses there quit the game years ago.
Having a small fee to keep your house will ensure that new players will move in your neighbourhood.
